He’s certainly got the most potential than any CB we’ve had since Woodgate. Different attributes and Woodgate was different class to any other CB I’d seen for us. Botman can hopefully, quietly, become the man, he’s got all you need.

Villa fans seem to think that they were done by VAR today and that we were booing an injured player. There were 3 very lengthy stoppages in the 1st half and I timed 13 mins just for them. That’s not including the penalty or the substitution or any other stoppages. The fans were booing the ridiculous amount of time it took to assess the keeper & decide he was ok. The earlier stoppage in our area was your typical Lazarus stuff. If there’d been 15 mins injury time in the 1st half nobody could have complained.

Villa just wanted the 2nd half to end. Our intensity was almost manic. We absolutely battered them to the point they almost didn’t know what they were supposed to do. It’ll not be like that most of the time but by Christ we were impressive 2nd half.

No issues at all with the protest. Just hope it doesn’t encourage anyone to bring a Saudi flag/ dress up. Some fans will see this a criticism of them and like many others, they just want to support the club they love. That in itself can be skewed as acceptance of sports washing. I’m firmly in the I have no say in who owns us and I’ll enjoy the ride brigade. If not us it would (not could) have been another club and Saudis human rights carries on unaltered. Let’s hope they have the protest and everyone respects the others viewpoint.

I’d expect bench at best for him. He’s carrying a knock and had to come off at half time only 3 days ago. He’d been limping for a good 10 minutes before that. Howe isn’t going to risk a longer term injury with him. Be interesting what rotation Howe does on Sunday, can see Fraser starting, might make a change at the back, can Wilson start so soon again and who would come in for, Willock or Anderson (assuming he doesn’t chuck Shelvey in cold)?

Confidence and coaching is a huge thing. He’s playing in a system where he knows what’s expected and his enthusiasm is great. He’s remains a pretty limited footballer. Pleased he’s enjoying a bit of good form.

I think that’s the no mark fans, the fans attempting to do something positive should be applauded. Having your own fans idly sitting back saying well that was shit is having a laugh and they should go fuck themselves.

Gotta say feel for them. They’ll have put hard work into that and their own fans are saying “well, that was a bit shit”. I’ve never known such a apathetic support from a well supported club. I’d like to see them back in the Prem but they’re absolutely ruined by where we are. Back when I was a lad there was a genuine argument about which club had the potential. KK ruined pretty much ended that as a debate and how the hope that was Ashley us forever and Dell was the future for them has killed the parochial world that they’ve always lived in.
