We've brought in two good players and two squad players and we have let 8 players go, 3 of whom could be considered first team players.. Is it not 3 first team players and one squad player or do you rate Butt higher than Guthrie I'd have Guthire in ahead off Butt, however, I'd rather have two better 'first-team' players in ahead of both of them...

KK would never accept those signings anyway, so just think about Beye and Faye instead. Those deal were different though were we not in discussions witht them for a week or so before? Not saying we are not talking to targets now but there is a difference between the two. Everything we have done on the transfer front has been very hush-hush since KK came back, so I'm quietly confident there are irons in the fire. I read today €50k, which would be about £37k. Which is not that excessive for Sunderland to pay to attract him from London... Why would they quote in Euros ? I know the dirty mackems backers are Irish but that would be ridiculous, it's a domestic transfer and Sunderland a a UK registerd company. I think where ever you read that, it's wrong, probably have no clue how much they are paying him. Skjelbred's a CM. Maybe Kev is going with the same narrow midfield as we had last season. Besides, we have far more wingers than CMs, so we could do with losing Milner. Jonas, Duff, Zoggy and Geremi do a better job than milner out wide. He's kind of expendable right now. The only expendable members of the squad are Smith and Shola, as they provide absolutely nothing. Even to all of those who don't rate Milner that highly, we still need him in the squad, if not necessarily the first team.
