Bloody hell, we loan the lad out and now he has to pay for the whole team... I'll get my coat... Touche...

Hopefully not. By January, hopefully we'll have Owen fit, plus Viduka, Ameobi and Smith for up front, more than enough to cover for Martins' absence. We'll have Barton, Emre, Butt, Milner, Zoggy, Duff, Solano for midfield cover, plus Roz if needed. In defence, Hopefully Enrique will be established as LB, Roz, Cacapa, Taylor for CB, and if needed Carr as RB for a few games. All of this taken before we buy anyone else. I'm sure if things are not going to plan by Christmas, Sam'll have a few ready to bring in...

Get real mate. Do you honestly think that these results affect us in any way? Not wanting to be a doom and gloom merchant...

I remember sam saying that but then I saw: http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1093546,00.html Aye, but that mentions no more leaving. I'd assume that if Nobby goes too, then we're looking at getting at least 2 more in. He does say that he expects to spend more and make more signings, not necessarily that he'll only make the one...

Was just thinking that myself. He looks calm and composed at all times, which is refreshing...

Cheers dave. I do care, because i live in northern ireland and stupidly have a subscription to nufc world...

Is it just commentary on world or is it full video coverage? I'm at work using my mobile, and i can't check the link!?

How do papers get away with printing such unadulterated shite???

yeah i get your point, just with wahts going on around us it's like we're being left behind a bit. I agree that other clubs are making big strides. But look at it this way; How many deals have taken place where you think we've missed out on a good player, moving for a reasonable price, to a team we could've realistically challenged for that player? Not too many spring to mind. I mean, Sidwell and Ben Haim were strongly linked with us, but both went to Chelsea (no brainer really). Bakari Sagna was also strongly linked, but choose Arsenal. Even beyond players we've been widely linked with, some say we should've gone for Grosso (went to Lyon, CL every year, guranteed trophies) or Metzelder (Real Madrid...). I'm not saying I'm happy with us not strengthening the defence as quickly as I'd hoped, but I just think some on here are typically knee-jerk as soon as the slightest time goes by without a signing. I personally think we've all been spoiled for excitement over the last 2 months, and we all need to relax a bit. As has been said before, many times, Rome wasn't built in a day. We many only get in, what some may consider to be, squad players like Quedrue or Young this Summer, but those two are a significant improvement on our current incumbents. This then lets us re-evaluate the team next summer or even in January... All that being said, I'm convinced that we'll have at least one player come in that the majority of fans are over the moon about...

My sentiments exactly...

Or maybe NUFC.com will have one of their 'credible sources' confirm it for us...

Would be a damn sight cheaper than Deco anyway (For all those who think we need an AM). On a free, why not try a cheeky offer...

IMO 3-5-2 is the best formation, in theory. The problem is that very few teams can pull it off. With the right players, yes, it would be great, but I can't see us lining up like this...

Wouldn't complain Shame Beye is the only realistic one of those.

Good signing for them. He'll play well off RVN. blueyes.gif

I'd never heard of him really but his goal tally for last season is quite impressive. They'd better hope he's not another Maccarone because they're desperate for strikers and I can't see them spending a higher sum on any of the other forwards brought in. His tally last season is good, but every other season it has been woeful. I think this is a massive gamble on Sven's part. But hey, they've got lot's of Thai money to move quickly, no questions asked, wink wink nudge nudge...

Aye, but Woody was a crock even then, and they knew it. To think, we were in for Terry around that time too. Hindsight's a wonderful thing eh. Signs are that we're back to the ridiculously inflated transfer fees again. I mean, people thought £17m for Owen was massive 2 years ago. Now you're getting £16m for Bent, etc, etc.
-
Aye, but Ferdinand was £28m. At least that's my understanding of what they're on about...

definately, perhaps we could be outside challengers for the title with liverpool? Aye, sure maybe FIFA could just give us a special dispensation and allow us into the CL...

Aye, a wee bit OTT if you ask me. Dunno much about him mesell, but here's his WIKI... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%A9pler_Laveran_Lima_Ferreira If he is any good, then you've got to think Real may finally have a defence sorted out. What with Cannavaro, Metzelder, Ramos, and now Pepe. All they need is a proper replacement for Roberto Carlos...

Why would you need to limit it? The Premierleague website does the tables etc so it doesn't matter whether there's 10 people or 200...

Aye, seen it on SSN this morning. They have reflective dots on the sleeves to help the palyers see each other over long distances (open you fucking eyes!) and the keeper top has rugby style 'grip strips' on it. Personally speaking, I don't see wha realistic benefit that could have...

i hope not Good enough for a top 6 Newcastle at centre back, not good enough for a Premiership contending Chelsea at right back. I agree. Not many would have rated Vidic after his first half a season at Man U, but look how he came on after adjusting to the league. Not saying Boulahrouz is as good as Vidic, or is going to set the world alight, but I just think he comes in for some unfair criticism...
