  2. Dont want Crouch or Riise And Hangeland is worse than Bramble Smacks of FM tbh... Honestly though, we finally get Owen fit and firing, so lets drop him...
  3. Would tend to agree. SWP in his Man City days was better than anything the other two have shown. The question is, can he get back to that after stagnating at Chelski?
  4. Just watching this now, Nakamura scored an absolute screamer. Looks like it'll be a great open game...
  5. Hope we can get a few quality signings in, not expecting a radical Chelski-style overhaul though...
  6. Coco

    Chimbonda

If he does go to Sevilla does that mean Daniel Alves could be on his way too? Then again, this is the NOTW...
  7. what lad from dundee? Barry Robson. Celtic want him too though. never heard of him...then again, Scottish footy's no one of me strong points Scored today i think...
  8. Nice to see some positive press for a change...
  9. That Keegan interview wasn't a good one. Aye, that was the sign that Kev had lost the plot tbh...
  10. I must be honest, I really don't know how to answer a question like this. Particularly as Arsenal have been more successful than Chelsea in the last decade. Im glad you didnt slate it, im not sure either. True they have been more successful but havent had the "clinicalness" that Chelsea have. ie consecutive titles. If you ask me, Chelsea at there best were superior to Arsenal at there best. Ok, not superior but better. I could have slated it. The concept that playing attractive football is preferable to winning football is something I don't grasp at all. Winning football is entertaining to your own supporters. End of. So if one of the contrasting style won you 1 more trophy in x years would you still prefer that style? This hypothetical is getting a bit out of hand now. As was stated, winning football is the main concern for fans. Winning 'ugly' is ok, as long as you're winning. As we saw, losing ugly is a whole different story...
  11. Very interesting, and encouraging, reading. If this now means a more hands-on Mike Ashley, surely that can only be better for the club...
  12. My lass amusingly refers to it as "the ticker". Is that not what it's called? So playing in the Prem and speaking English two key attributes?
  13. Don't know if it's been mentioned already (or if anyone cares) but apparently Sam's agent has been in touch with the FAI regarding the vacant Ireland job. I'd have him anyway, a lot better than all of the other candidtaes, bar Houllier...
  14. so simple. so correct. Why does it take so long for people to understand. Not really. He has to get in a manager who is actually capable of delivering what he and the fans expect. What if he thought some tool like Steve 'Geordie Boy' Bruce could do that, and then proceeded to back him to the hilt? A ridiculous example, but you get my point. I think his appointment should reflect the ambition that his bank balance can support. Hopefully it will, but at the minute, most people are decidedly underwhelmed by all the press speculation surrounding Redknapp, and this is breeding bad vibes...
  15. Agreed. The only reason for sacking Sam the way they did was if they had a top manager lined up and ready to step in. I'm not suggesting that they don't, but it's looking increasingly likely that they will, or indeed already have approached Redknapp. This just seems to show a lack of real ambition. Everyone remembers in the summer when Ashley and his millions blew through here with promises of making us a force in Europe. This is his chance to show his intent, or lack thereof...
  16. Nice to see Bolton and Spurs in such great shape that their fans can come on here and give us a hard time...
  17. Scored 12, conceded 5 in the last 6 matches. Not too bad, definite improvement on what had gone on before. Can't think of any other player being linked to return to his former club whose effigies were hanging from lampposts when he left the club the first time around. Ever heard of Ronaldo? Or Luis Figo? But they didn't go back either...
  18. got it in one mate, off to see the boss. yeah its most likely we'll just watch it in an arena bar if its on there, almost too good to be true though, something must be up, lets hope its not the result Aye, over at the Odyssey they'll be showing the match. You'd only run into a problem if it wasn't on Sky or Setanta. But, if you want any kind of atmosphere, you'd be best to go to the Bot (Botanic Inn). Was where I'd always go to watch the footy when I was at Uni in Belfast. Had some good nights in there...
  19. 2:59 That was a shit team...
  20. Thought he meant luc nilis...
  21. To be fair, shay has never had a good defence in front of him, ever...
