Kids ran up to a car thinking it was Papisto, realized it wasn't him. Didn't identify it was Moussa and walked off? Poor Moussa indeed Drowned his sorrows later on that night clearly. Exactly. It was a crowd of about 10 kids, and they ran over screaming "It's Cissé, it's Cissé!". Moussa wound down the window and smiled out at them, clearly ready to sign a few autographs, and one of them shouted back "Nah lads, this isn't Cissé" and they all walked off. I smiled over at him and gave an awkward wave, but you could see he was devastated. Given the calibre of woman sitting beside him, and the money he earns, I'm sure he cheered himself up later.

Was leaving the stadium yesterday and Sissoko drove past and stopped at the lights. He was mobbed by kids looking for autographs, but they all just sulked off disappointed when they realised he wasn't Cissé. Felt really bad for him. Saw the same car outside Tup Tup at about 2am, along with another couple of flash cars, so I assume the players were inside.

Or Owen Coyle. He's getting the Wolves gig apparently. Decent move for them.

Aye. They reverted back to the original version this season. It was a bit of a big deal for their fans. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18033752 http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/60182000/jpg/_60182357_liverpool_badge_comp.jpg

Has to go. This is just the rotten cherry on top of the steaming pile of shite that we've been served up this season. There is simply no way that we can come back with this pathetic excuse for a manager. That said, the players deserve their share of the blame. For a squad that is probably the best we've had in the last 10 years to be putting out that level of performance is just shameful.

Exactly. I love to see this kind of passion from our players. It reminds me of seeing big John Hayes and Jerry Flannery crying during the anthem before battering England.

Don't disrespect my favourite mug, you can get about 3 cups of tea in that thing. -
Liverpool had their worst season in an age last season & still got to 2 cup finals. True, but I don't see them challenging for the title or even breaking into the CL places, especially with Gerrard on the wane and the prospect of losing Suarez.
-
If he honestly thinks that Liverpool will achieve anything significantly more than us over the next few years, then good luck to him.

I associate it with this, but I doubt that Llambias got it from playing RPG's. http://www.giantbomb.com/color-coded-loot/3015-4702/

Just arrived. Quality is excellent, if not 100% authentic. It feels like a modern football top, very light. But the cut, size, and feel are great. Well worth a purchase for anyone interested. -

I took the plunge and ordered the '96 away top. Hopefully it's not completely shit and lasts for more than one wash. -
I wonder what kind of funding goes towards soccer here? GAA clubs have fantastic funding. I mean even small clubs get so much. Pretty much every town/village in Ireland has a GAA club which has a club house, personalized kits, gyms etc and in a lot of cases flood lighting. If the FAI and the IFA invested as much into local soccer as the GAA does in to local clubs then maybe there'd be more of an interest and therefore better players here? somehow I get the feeling not very much not when theres a stadium to payoff and the ridiculous amounts the likes of John Delany get (and had the audacity and cheek to defend his salary) while under his "enlightened" stewardship the league clubs are falling to pieces while the FAI does sweet f*** all. But hey, at least we've got da bestest fanz in da world!! That 3 ad is so fucking embarrassing.

If the FAI and the IFA invested as much into local soccer as the GAA does in to local clubs then maybe there'd be more of an interest and therefore better players here? It's a shame, isn't it. We lucked out with the general quality of players we had for years. Look at the team from the late 80's through the 90's and even in the early 00's. We had a solid spine of premier league (or old first division) players with the odd stand out player like Roy Keane, Paul McGrath, Denis Irwin, etc. Now we are lucky to be able to field a championship level team, full of cloggers like Paul Green and Jonathan Walters. It's a fucking disgrace, but I just don't see the FAI being capable of arresting the slide.
-
Yeah, we simply don't have the players right now. It's easy for people to blame Trapattoni, but look at what he has to work with. The future is pretty grim for Irish football.

Anyone bought any of the retro kits from the club shop? I'd be interested, but I don't want to get some cheap shit that feels like crap. -
Home to Portsmouth, 27th April 2009. I took me a long time to get over for a game, and when I finally made it to St James' the game was a stinker. 0-0 draw with a shite Pompey side, and a horrible atmosphere around the ground, with everyone beginning to believe that relegation was inevitable. Was over for the weekend with my brother for his 30th, so it wasn't a complete waste.

The last time I was in Teeside I almost got into a fight over why I was a Newcastle fan. The locals didn't like that I laughed off the notion of there being many Boro fans in Ireland. I was over there for an engagement party, but the highlight of their night was watching us get thumped 5-1 by Man U. Says all that needs to be said about that lot.
