I've just done a couple of small E/W shouts on Whisper (25/1) & Calculated Risk (33/1) to have an outside interest in the race. Get in. Can't believe how much Whisper came in on the exchanges. Stuck a couple of quid on based on this.

It's possible, but not likely. You'll hit a decent run of form and push for top four. Hopefully we can sustain something close to our current form, and be in the mix for a top seven finish.

Boruc is a mad bastard, you gotta love the Holy Goalie.

nah came over from my local club Cork City (still pisses me off how Reading basically got him for next to nothing) in 2005 Was he thrown into the Kevin Doyle deal as a makeweight? Crazy deal for reading, considering what they sold both players for.

It's ok, they'll just cheat their way to the finals, again.

Checking out Email Heskey. Striker crisis solved.

Agree with a lot of that, apart from the first bit. Do you think Tony Pulis would turn down the chance to work for Ashley?...he's what people may view as a "strong character"...do you think he'd get us playing better football to a coherent pattern?... Pulis would probably get us playing "better". At least he knows what way he wants to play and gets the team to go out and do it. We may not agree with it, or like it, but it's hard to argue with the relative success he brought Stoke. With Pardew at the helm we are so schizophrenic it's unbelievable. Even within games, we go from a decent passing side to a total shambles, and everything in between. A big part of the problem is having a spineless manager, incapable of enforcing his own style on the team.

The vast majority of people on here will support this kind of thing, but sadly, an internet forum is simply not representative of the larger fanbase. This is a very small, and skewed sample. Nevermind the fact that we have a shitload of non-local fans (myself included). I'd love to see something proper get organised, and there to be a concerted effort to force a change in ownership etc. but it needs to be driven by local media, and word of mouth. In light of recent events, it could go either way with the local journos. If people keep up the pressure, and hold protests at every home game, it will get traction with the local, and eventually national press. Go for it. Less talk, more action.

There was plenty of unrest yesterday, admittedly directed at the players rather than Pardew. It's crazy how everyone in the stands was able to spot where we were going wrong, but the one man responsible was incapable of doing anything to correct it. Zero movement, zero cohesion, zero teamwork. But we were just unlucky, eh?

Sat next to Adam Campbell on the bus.

Struggled to sleep all night, think I might just go for a wander now to take my mind off it. Proper excited, like fucking Christmas eve.

Making my way over for this. Need to break my jinx though, as I'm yet to see us win.

It's all well and good changing manager, but we need an attitude change if we want to think about qualifying for major tournaments any time soon. Trapattoni was only ever going to be a short-term solution. They need to go out and hire a manager with a long term strategy to overhaul the system. Someone who will blood the young players and try to build a decent side in years to come. I'm not sure that the FAI is capable of making those kind of decisions.

I'm guessing this isn't proving too popular, I've just got an e-mail from the club reminding me that tickets are still available. Pretty damning indictment of how the fans see the club right now, considering that this is the first home game of the season.

I for one will be disappointed when we eventually sign "Bag O'Shite" from Derry Town

I really liked this one, except for the gold badge. http://epltalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/newcastle-third-shirt1.jpg -

If we do this we'll be in good shape. A striker, winger, and centre half will leave us with a very solid first eleven. Krul Debuchy - NEW CB - Yanga-Mbiwa - Santon Anita - Sissoko - Cabaye Ben Arfa - Cisse - NEW LW A couple of squad players or young talents will surely be better placed to do something than the likes of Gosling, Shola, or Obertan. Harper going is no loss, he was already finished. Elliot is capable back-up, then we have young lads to fight it out for 3rd choice.

If a few morons in Stoke pile on the bets, the odds tumble. Bookies odds count for fuck all.
