I'm not sure starting out wide really suits Perez, tbh, he seems to be a player at his most comfortable when moving out wide from a central position and then weaving back in to the space opened up. Cabella's a bit different, he seems more adept moving a few metres infield from the flank, picking up spaces inside & starting attacking moves (this'd suit Janmaat's game more too, IMO). The other issue I have is our counter game with de Jong-Cisse together, we've been great recently having at least one of those two spots taken up by a player that can take the ball in transition and carry it up the pitch with speed, I think we'd lose a lot of that 'fret' with a one-paced combination like that.

Mourinho played for the team that his dad managed, then two others and then quit because he wanted to be a manager. The point being, they're lowly teams. There was the whole 'Arsene who?' thing because in terms of being players, they were complete outsiders. On a personal note, I was speaking to a Championship player not long back, some of the things he was telling me about the backwards management really does open your eyes to the living these blokes are stealing. Go on.... Things like taking a 5 day holiday (the whole club) when in the middle of a lengthy losing streak so he can go and pissed abroad with his mates, spending multiple days a week on running (no tactics, set pieces or ball work, just running about), no tactical instruction for games (just a 'motivational' speech pre-game) etc. Worse was his treatment of the players, apparently just tears strips off them all the time and sold a lad that asked if the club could pick him up after an operation because he thought it was a sign he was getting too big for his boots. Basically, he earns an excellent wage to shout at people and make them run around a field for two hours a day.

I agree on the not needing to be a player thing, there's a lot of turd in the English management ranks, I was just sure those two had played the game at some professional level. I'm pretty sure Wenger and Mourinho both played, like. Mourinho was an attacking midfielder for some lowly Portuguese team, jacked it in pretty sharp, IIRC.

Supersub might well be the way forward with Papiss. He relishes space and that obviously comes easier when the opposition are more fatigued.

If de Jong is going to be the attacking mid, I'm not so sure Cisse is the best option to play ahead of him. I'd wager Ayoze-de Jong will have more balance to it, with Ayoze pulling out into wider areas, stretching the back line and allowing de Jong to attack from deeper areas. Cisse is our only proven goalscorer, at present, though, so it's a conundrum.

He's been very good, of late. I wouldn't be playing him as a full back for a lot of games but I don't see an issue with him playing at centre half.

If Abeid keeps his form up then we just don't need him for a lot of games. Abeid - Sissoko with 4 others ahead.

We all know that's his downfall. Just plays the same vs. everyone. Fucking starting Gouffran at Burnley, the utter muppet.

Can see him playing well with Aarons if he ever gets back. Aarons looks to have the best cross on him (and more varied types of delivery), of all our wingers.

It's no surprise he's doing better with a proper winger in the team. Amazing return given the stop-start nature of his season. He doesn't even look totally fit either

He's marvellous. -
Excellent today but these sorts of games suit him, I think. It's against lesser sides where his weaknesses are at their most apparent.
-
One of my go-to responses, that Good for him. Glad he said it. Fans can give so should be able to take Completely disagree with this, like. A fan shouldn't be held to the same standard as a manager, one isn't representing the club and sport in a professional capacity.

Well, that was shit. He's now slowly migrating his shitty favourites back into the side too. Great, just great. -
