  1. http://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article7968428.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Newcastle-badge-Neil-Warnock.jpg Why doesn't he have eyebrows?
  2. If Rafa stays he'll just end up leaving in a couple of years when Ashley breaks all his promises, just like Keegan did.
  3. If we end up with Warnock we should just convert this into a Stargate forum.
  4. even if you take everything so far as water under the bridge all we're ever going to be under ashley is an advert and the vehicle for the latest wretched shirt sponsor he can find i'd much rather be rid of him forever and take our chances that we get a proper owner If we were competing at the top of the Premier League and winning cups, possibly the league then would you accept Ashley's ownership? I'm pretty sure most would. Yes, the same way I'd accept John Carver managing the team if he was winning leagues or cups. Neither is going to happen though. Rafa isn't a sign that Ashley's changed and things are going to be different. He's a panic appointment that we kind of lucked into. If McClaren had us comfortably lower mid-table then he'd still be here, for as long as he kept doing it.
  5. Of course it doesn't. It's a hypothetical question.
  6. "We should stick with Pardew, who else could we get?" Equating Benitez with Pardew No - I'm equating Ashley with whoever the new owner is.
  7. Everyone's got such short memories. Remember what happened last time Ashley appointed a manager we all loved?
  8. "We should stick with Pardew, who else could we get?"
  9. I'm surprised B has any votes, but it's winning? Insane. I mean, if it was included in this hypothetical situation that Ashley had changed and we'd be run properly, I'd be willing to forgive and start again. But it's Ashley. Doesn't matter if Rafa gets the job, he'll fuck everything up again like he always does.
  10. That's why it's called a hypothetical question.
  11. I think we'll get this one right and he'll remain, the stakes are too high for the club if they mess it up and I'm sue they know that. They know absolutely nothing about football though. Their concept of what needs to be done could be absolutely anything. Aye. It'll be Brewce in charge come August. Would he even want to drop a division?

What doesn't make sense? I have, and will going forward when necessary, hurle abuse at Ashley as and when I see fit. Never shirked away from that before. What I will not do is stay away from the games for a prolonged period just to "feel like I've done my bit". People have a lot of things going on in their lives, and to some, football on a weekend is a great escape or a nice distraction or just a bit of fun. A lot of people in that stadium won't think about it 24/7, post on message boards / Twitter all day every day, and it's unreasonable to ever expect everyone to share your desire for change / protest. It just won't happen. Pointless getting angry about it. Fair play if regularly getting thumped off the likes of Bournemouth and Palace is a nice distraction for you.
  13. He's not stupid. If he stays he's going to make sure he's got everything he needs to do the job he wants, not just sign the first thing Charnley puts in front of him.
  14. We are a much bigger club than Swansea, Southampton or Stoke it could be argued, but they are now established PL sides who for the most part haven't been flirting with relegation year on year and who seem to have a strategy for some improvement on and off the pitch. We are owned by an idiot, ran by idiots and have no strategy or plan in place (any that makes sense anyway) for improving. Watford could easily fall into the 'Stoke' category of sides if they get their next appointment correct. Playing the we are bigger than you card needs some revision in my opinion. Far 'bigger' clubs than the Watfords of this world have been languishing in the second tier of football for years now. To dismiss the Watford link smacks of arrogance to me. Thanks to Ashley we really are a toxic choice. But there isn't a Watford link, it's just something someone said in this thread.
  15. We're a much bigger team than Watford. Going there would be a massively short-termist thing to do.

Unless we re-sign Forster or Carroll, there aren't any good Geordie players.

I'm interested to know who Douglas's source is. Wonder if it's McClaren? Charnley comes out of that a lot worse than he does.
  18. Yeah, that's also how you write umlauts in German if you don't have the right characters.

"At the top" is what I said meaning anywhere from 1st - 6th imo he'll be top scorer, or very close. Don't see what is daft by that statement. Everyone who is claiming that he is shit seem to think he's incapable of scoring, so if he was our main striker and we were at the top he'd still be shit and not scoring, no? People have written this bloke off for no reason at all and a lot of people on here love to be dramatic and see everything and everyone negatively. He's a much better player than people give him credit for. No he's not I've said it many times he has nothing to his game that will ever make him a decent striker 1. He can't jump or head a ball with conviction 2. He is as slow as a week in the jail 3. He can't shoot and panics like fuck everytime he gets in the box 4. He can't read the game at all 5. he never gets into positions where he'd be dangerous or look like scoring 6. He has no composure infront of goal All the idiots on here saying ah but its because he's 21 and in a new league is absolute bullshit and an excuse. Both man city and man united have 3 young lads between them upfront who are younger and never played in that league before yet they can do it simply because they have what is required to be a top level striker mitrovic simply doesn't have it and never will if you're good enough you're age is irrelevant saying that though he may find his level at the championship a bit like lovenkrands and ned kelly Probably also helps if you have Pellegrini or Van Gaal coaching you and not Steve McClaren. Or if you're getting service from Silva or Mata instead of Colback.
  20. Out of interest, what proactive action are you taking now he's ran out of chances with you? Can't wait for the day he's out of our club, but enjoying a Rafa Benitez led Newcastle is a lot more appealing to me than whinging in the shadows. What can I do from 200 miles away? Parcel bomb.
  21. Based on information or feelings? Just mentions him in relation to the job and says 'he wants it' The way he talked about Benitez when he joined, they've never been friends. Rafa was very much a boss. I'd be surprised if Carragher was ITK.

http://www.nufcblog.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/mike-williamson-360.png He got 20 goals in a 30 league season in Belgium. How does that league compare to the Championship? I've never watched it.
  23. I started filling in one of those life expectancy calculators for him, but I didn't have enough information.
