  1. Classic. Makes so little difference that in a blind panic, he's just handed out 10,000 free season tickets because there are gaps in the stands. Honestly, man. Work better on your routine.
  2. We should get at them both. Getting at Bruce gets at Ashley indirectly. Sports Direct is so difficult to touch given the rest of the country doesn't give a shit about NUFC. We need to work on Ashley and his army of sycophants and that starts with current 'Smithers impersonator-in-chief', Steve Bruce.
  3. Regardless of who the manager and club is, I believe that going back to a club never works (even though Mourinho won the league first season back with Chelsea, it wasn't quite the same and quickly turned to shit). David Moyes going back is another level of disaster waiting to happen. Fucking hell
  4. Ashley's issue is that football/sport isn't as straight forward as saying "Right, this season I will be successful" (obvious to you and I, I know). So many things need to be just right and as his decision making when it comes to football is so awful and uninformed, he won't find it easy. His ethos of how he wants to run the club is now too widely known and I think Rafa is the last genuinely talented manager we'll get under his tenure. He could of course just get lucky but Steve Bruce is the level now. As proven with the free tickets, the fans genuinely have the power to get to him so if, when, relegation happens, the fans have the ability to force him to cut his losses eventually. It won't be immediate, I appreciate that, but the fans can force change. I totally understand what you're saying, I just do not think that Ashley would allow it to get to that point. He has had the opportunity twice now with relegation to get out, but the bloke is such a c*** and so stubborn, that he will then invest to protect his ownership, to try and ensure he gets the money he thinks the club is worth. Is the club worth what he wants, nope, but he is so thick skinned he genuinely believes it. Our only hope for a sale to happen, in my opinion, is for some mega rich person/company to meet the price he wants. That will only happen within the Premier League as the cost he would put for a club in the Championship would not attract anyone. The boycott did have a mild effect, questions were being asked; but he then just pulls an ace out of his deck of hands and the sheep come rolling in. I'm not disagreeing that a number of years down there may have an effect, what I just don't think will happen is Ashley allowing that to happen. I would love to see the ground empty (fully not 5-10,000) as there would be ruptures happening then. The support has shown that will never be the case; maybe in the 80s it would, but the general football fan has changed from then. I do believe if we do stay up and nobody comes in (with the shirt sponsor/supplier deal) this year, then we may as well forget about Ashley leaving anytime soon. I personally can never forgive John Hall at accepting the first bid that came in and thinking of his wealth first before the club. What galls me even more is that the same person sticks up for him at frequent intervals. Of course I want Ashley gone for good with no strings either, I just think he is too cute to allow it to happen the way people are forecasting on here. All very fair comments Godzilla. Time is the only thing that will ultimately tell us and i'm finding myself wishing my life away, wanting to get ahead 3 or 4 years to find out where we are and if we are finally rid of him. I want to enjoy NUFC again. Sad state of affairs really.

  6. That is absolutely it in a nutshell. Sometimes it feels like some fans just want to be able to say that they support a premier league club and aren't truly bothered about how the club is run.
  7. Yes it is VAR problem, if it is used like this. Shouldn't check offsides with it. Just red cards and penalties. VAR is just a video replay, the use of VAR and how it's being implemented is a problem clearly but VAR is just as i say video replay of any given incident. Also Souness got it right just now amazingly, if any part of the attacker is onside then it's should be a goal, cuts the crap out we've just seen. Hmm, you're going to get arguments the other way then. A player could be in his stride running away from the defender but his trailing leg might just be in line therefore making him onside. On a freeze frame, we'd probably all say he looks well offside. True, but i think i prefer that to how it is now like. Absolutely. Too many teams being unfairly punished currently.

  9. He wouldn’t go into specific examples, the impression I got was that the scouts (or certain scouts) could find the next Maradona and nothing would be done unless the right criteria was met. When Nickson was appointed the feeling was that it was a good thing, it may well be that he is singing to Ashley’s tune completely now and that new signings have to fit the right criteria above what the team actually needs. I asked about a goal scorer and he simply laughed. It isn't new information to hear stories like this but it'll never stop being demoralizing.
  10. I don't agree. He's Ashley's shield. Keep chipping away at what's in front of Ashley and it exposes him again and he hates being in the firing line.
  11. I've stopped going to the games. I'm not spending any money on the club at all. I want Ashley out but I can't wish we lose. To me that is a fair position. I'm not just supporting the team like nothing has happened. I'll be honest, that line of thinking is equally as confusing to me. As a win for the team is a win for Mike Ashley, I can't understand the logic. I can't separate NUFC from Mike Ashley now so wishing bad results on the team is a by product of wishing ill fortune on Ashley. Then why do you still post here? What O-N said. But you want the team to lose every game. What's the point in investing all that time watching the games and then posting on a messageboard about a team you want to lose? Makes zero sense. Because it's my team. Where else am i going to vent with people with a common interest? If this was another club's board, I think your question would be very valid. FWIW i don't invest any time in watching us any more. But it's not your team anymore. You've confirmed that. Why would you post on a message board about a team you don't watch? Makes less than no sense. I don't know how old you are but if you are lucky, you'll have seen how big we can get and how good it can be to support this club. I'm prepared to see the club sink to any depth if it means we have a chance of trying to get back to that level again.

  14. Does he deserve posters wishing he has a heart attack? Is that acceptable behaviour? No
  15. Bruce chose to be Ashley's mouthpiece and is willingly complicit in the way the club is run so he deserves all the abuse he gets.
  16. But to actively call fans cunts and give it the big one when they score ? You think that's ok? In a match thread? Sorry if that's acceptable then its fucked.no more MDT for me (cheers go up) From memory, when goals go in, some posters only put "get in" or "hahaha". The name calling starts when people respond to those posts. I would recommend the Ignore function.
  17. Didn’t say I was happy keeping him I’m certainly not. However in my opinion rightly or wrongly is staying in the premiership and hopefully there will be someone who meets his price. If anyone is, it will be before the Summer I would think (as long as they stay up), as the kit supplier and kit sponsorship is up for grabs and straight away increased revenue available. In the Championship Ashley won’t change the price much and nobody is going to take a risk on those terms. The boycott was having an effect as it was being discussed in the media. He knew what to do though give free tickets away, the muppets lap it up and he’s praised in the media. You must surely have worked out by now that his price will never be met as the club isn't, and never has been, for sale. Makes no difference as I couldn’t argue with you anyway without putting someone in the s***. So I just don’t go into or comment on what is or what is not happening with takeover talk now after the summer’s carry on. He certainly won’t be selling up in the Championship though that’s for sure. Honestly, I don't care to know what information you or your ITK contact has regarding the sale of the club, but I think you are both (or all if you have multiple contacts) naive if you think that any attempts to sell the club are genuine (quite likely genuine on the part of the buyers i'd say). Personally, I don't. I can't explain why Ashley goes through the pretence of looking like he's selling but I don't believe that any of them were genuine attempts to sell. I think he could have easily sold it by now if he genuinely wanted to. I think Ashley is a pathological liar and I don't believe anything that comes out of his or the clubs mouth. Good for you hope you feel better now Not really, my football club is fucked, will be for a long, long time and i'll likely never see NUFC win or even get close to winning a major trophy.
