I am so detached from football these days (cheers Mike), it feels quite a tedious run in to me. It'd be different if each were unexpectedly dropping points.
It feels like they are both just winning to the seasons conclusion.
That's why I'm happy that we've got Rafa, he aint just gonna shut up and be satisfied with no ambition whatever.
Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't swap him for anyone.
Rafa's problem is that he is asking for things from Ashley to make NUFC a better team/club. That's the worst thing to do as Ashley reacts badly to demands.
To manage NUFC, you have to shut up and work with what you're given and that's just not Rafa. There's not a chance in hell that Ashley is fighting to keep him.
Even if it's written in a contract, I'd still expect Ashley to renege on it and to take his chances with a legal battle.
I can't ever see a situation where Ashley backs down and gives Rafa exactly what he wants.
I'm not quite sure why anyone, at any time this season, thought there was a point.
With or without Rafa, this club is pointless while Ashley is around.
For anyone hoping that he is staying, I'd be very concerned.
Personally, all season I've worked on the assumption that he's gone this summer. I've not seen or heard anything to make me change that viewpoint. Ashley will want to bring in a lickspittle.
It'd been (another) bad season on the whole.
Not for the money spent is isn't, Rafa has done another great job.
Fuck off Mike
Rafa's achievement given his resources is a different question.
We are 15th in the league and got knocked out of both cups early on again. It's been a shite season.
But we've learned from Staveley and Kenyon, even when there is clearly things going on in the background, it never reaches it's conclusion.
It's therefore pointless believing that a new bid will do anything other than end up down another dead end.
Disappointing tonight. The wind made it very difficult for any football to be played and Solihull weren't really any better on the whole, certainly in the first half.
Gateshead had the best chance of the first half but never recovered after the sending off though and barely got into Solihull's box in the second half.
