He'd have been ideal for them a few years ago but I bet Wenger's not that bothered any more. With whats going on at Arsenal, might he not be a fairly decent shout for them in this window. He is established in the Premiership. Known to fans of other clubs. Might be seen by some Arsenal fans as an attempt to try to bring in someone who isnt a school leaver and has some kind of a reputation as a skillful player

Thats a fair assessment. I think he is an honest enough guy but just doesnt know when to shut up and ends up coming out with all sorts of stuff.

Agree with that. I think when it comes to protection, he should be looking along the lines of protection from the TV and the media. Ferguson did a great job with Giggs when he made sure he did no interviews for years while all the hullabaloo surrounded him in the early 90's.

NUFC will always be interesting - whether it be in a good or bad environment and they will never stop being my number one passion. I do however have a general downer on the whole sport at the moment. The thing that really got me was that "goal" that Reading were awarded at Watford. The fact that the players didnt have the sporting decency to allow Watford a reply goal to balance the score spoke volumes for me of the general cynical and selfish attitude of people in football. Then I think within days Man City were spouting off about becoming a football Harlem Globetrotters and I just thought "oh fuck this".

I am not sure, something from 2001 quantifies him as a serial trouble maker or as someone who talks out of turn at the merest opportunity. Someone's lying or talking out of turn. In the world of football anyone is capable of coming out with all sorts of garbage - I would just be staggered if his lawyer has spoken without his consent. Laughable decision on his behalf if he has. EDIT : I just want to add to that that if it is entirely true what his lawyer has said, he is badly advised in actually quoting the clubs concerned. Information like that is best kept to themselves and not made public. If they are interetsed, I bet they're well pissed off that they have been quoted by him.
