You off your tits or summat? Not really...just saying i can see the board turning to him. He definately wouldn't be my choice. You do know why he quit West Ham, yeah? Because fans were on his back and he wanted to keep some pride as he was goin to get sacked imo. No, he left because he was being undermined in terms of transfers. Whether he was undermined or not...the fact of the matter was that he was doing a shit job and would of got sacked anyway... Wow... That's Curbiushley sold on me then. He's the man for the job ?

I'll still buy nothing from inside the ground and we'll still not buy anything from anywhere owned by Ashley and we usually spend a fortune on Newcastle gear on the run up to Christmas, we usually buy from the club through mail order. And what do you hope to achieve by that? You think a drop in Sales Revenues wont register with Mike Ashley ?

Can see this developing into a very depressing thread

Because he's a highly rated young coach who the club think could work well in the role they're looking to fill? Apparently Carlos Queiroz was the one at Man Utd who done most of the work on the training ground and was being credited as being behind Man Utd's tactical set up, now Alex Ferguson was apparently looking at Poyet to replace Queiroz because he's rated that highly, so why couldn't he fill that role here? The only difference is that coming here as our main man in the dug out would come with far more pressure, it would be a risk but I can see the thinking behind it. Steve McLaren was also highly rated as Alex Fergusons No 2 I don't think that makes any difference on whether Poyet would succeed or fail as they are two different people, but thanks for pointing that out. I would rather though that they targetted someone who was proven as the no 1 man in the dug out and not someone who is showing excellent promise hiding behind the man making all the final decisions. I have no doubt that Poyet could well be an excellent up and coming coach. Immense gamble for Ashley though.

This is such a stupid thing to say, it's not even based upon facts...it's based upon the dislike of him as a player. Never really taken to the guy myself, but I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for him at the level of sheer vitriol being spewed towards him by keyboard-wiedling Keegan-sops. Feel sorry for him? He had the arrogance to take a job with a football club that he knew the fans of which had a great dislike of him. He had the arrogance to assume that because he very rarely had to show his face in the North East, and he could spend his working life in London that he could get away with it. He knew the risks of taking the job on. No sympathy at all from me.

Doesnt appear to be a FACT so I would say no

Hope Ant and Dec tell him to fuck off once filiming stops
-
I think he'd feel too insecure putting his name on his shirt, especially if the club shop got the printing job. Continuing that theme, imagine how ironic it would be if Ashley appoints the poisoned dwarf as first team coach and then slaps the little cunt's name on the back of his shirt. The sight of Ashley with the word "WISE" on the back.... Might as well just put a Target/Bullseye on there instead
-
I thought the club web site did but I might be wide of the mark with that... Seem to remember seeing something in the past If it is on the club site, then you'll know "it is a fact."
-
Would I be wrong to suggest that maybe some personaliities within the club were jealous of Keegan's popularity within the club ?

Ah but fuck it all now, though. We may as well have a laugh and enjoy it all. I think the sight of 50,000 geordies jumping up and down to the sound of "Lip Up Fatih" would be immense - just imagine. It would be even more impressive than the scarves at Shearer's testimonial. Mental.
-
If he is as mental as he sounds, it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Not saying he might not be a good appointment. I dont know much about him to comment but a volatile temperament, coupled with the current management staff/chain of command, could be a tabloids dream in-waiting.
-
I hardly think we've got the most secure of futures now, do you? We lost a manager. I hardly think that jeopardizes the future of the club. We'll get a new manager and move on. Yeah, into the Championship... fucking hell man, the next guy might be brilliant Sadly that will only happen by pure luck. No one of any proven talent is going to come here. Can hope though even if he's not brilliant there's no reason for people to be saying we're headed down man... oh aye thats mental. We wont go down. Its just any progress will be halted again
-
A tiny part of my brain thinks that may be a good idea but at the moment, my primary worry is not losing all our best players. I am resigned to thinking Owen is going but I want players like Guttierez (in particular), Colocinni, Xisco, Gonzalez, to walk out on Saturday and think "the club is fucked up at the minute but these supporters are something else... I want to play for them".
-
Vetere worked for Real Madrid Whichever of them did that fine. Thats the kind of experience and knowledge we are looking for.
-
Will the club come out and say from the outset exactly what the new managers role is going to be and who he reports to. I dare them to make the same mistake twice.
-
where is this coming from? wise was mates with ashley i presume before he bought the club? and what about jiminez/veterre? and llamblias? are they all "mates" or do ashley think they have something to offer in the business world? chris mort was a trusted advisor and did a fucking good job imo... look at it the other way, should ashley just appoint people he knows nothing whatsoever about to run his multi-million pound business? He should be looking to employ people with a proven record of success in the roles they are being employed. Chris Mort did do a very good job. Pity it was only temporary and he was allowed to leave. I am interested to see what Jimenez has on his CV that proves he is a proven Player Recruitment Executive. If this can be shown to me I shall apologise and accept that I am wrong. ain't saying you're wrong rob, just asking - does anyone know how matey ashley is with all of the appointments? from what i remember weren't some of them recommends from kelmsley, who is his mate? they might all be his bestest pals for all i know but as i've said it appears to me the recruitment team, now that we know their budgetary constraints, have a done a fucking sterling job really so i don't get the mates thing being a negative there, if it's even true I know mate and I would agree. Looking at the signings etc, they do appear to have done a decent job. Their communications skills are obviously woeful and if not improved upon are just going to cause problems in the future. It all just comes across a bit cliquey (sp) though with Keegan the only non-member of their little gang. Going for Zola, an ex team mate of Wise, would just appear to be them adding to their clique.

In my opinion the only way to go is : 1) Fill the ground. 2) Give the players 100% vocal support 3) Give Keegan 100% vocal support 4) Do not spend a penny in the club shop nor inside the ground on food, drink programmes. The fans and players are the innocent parties here. The players deserve every backing on the pitch as we need to show them that as far as the fans are concerned, it is only the board that are the targets of the anger. This epseiclaly applies to any of the 2 new lads that arrived on deadline day. We also need to show the rest of the country that we are not just going to turn our back on the club as a whole.
-
aye totally, someone's gonna do summat fucking stupid - if they can't find him they'll probably brick the windows or something if we lose a home game as for your first sentence it's why i'll be astounded if he doesn't sell up, and quick after the hull game In some respects I will be really disappointed if he goes. Sky kept showing clips of him at WHL last season celebrating a goal and he looked genuinely happy and wrapped up in it all. Gave me real cause for optimism. I must have been very naive
