I'm surprised you're surprised tbh. He's awful in that role, just has a habit of being in the 'right place' at, yes, the right time. He contributes so little to the play that it kills some of my brain cells.

City have spacked an awful lot of money but they haven't really bought that many world class players. Now they have a squad of 25 players of near equal quality. In DM for example. De Jong, Kompany, Barry, Viera are all of a similarish quality but none of them worldbeaters. Unfortunately Touré destroys my point but it's the same in other positions. Defenders, none of them are particularly great. They are mostly top 6, yes, but not top 4.

As I said before, I'd rather drop Jonas than Routledge. Definitely. Just because he's Argentinian doesn't mean he's that good, which seems to affect a lot of peoples judgements. There's space for them both in the first team though. You think because he's Argentinian, people rate him higher than if he was Scottish? What a load of tosh. José is Spanish, it doesn't mean I rate him highly because of that fact alone. Well, what about the fact he's a full Argentinian international? Still irrelevant. I judge him by how he performs for Newcastle, nothing else comes into it. I'm not talking about sensible people by the way, I'm talking about the spackers.
