  1. Am I the only one who thought Guthries was pretty gash? His passing was pretty embarrassing at some points. Seriously, after seeing Sol Campbell play a beautiful ball out wide to our box just put it into perspective. Was impressed by Alan Smith, at least he get's stuck in. Coloccini was great, if not a bit lucky to not give away a penalty maybe. Never thought I'd say this... ever... but our defence is actually quite good. Nevertheless, that was a pile of shite. If we can't beat a very very poor Portsmouth side then we are fucked. GET IT TOGETHER!
  2. Don't even know what to think about this game. They fucking owe us a performance, I don't care what we do, as long as the team takes the game to Liverpool and doesn't sit and get plastered by them. I usually watch every single game I can (Glasgow) but I don't know if I want to watch this. It's just fucking embarrassing now.
  3. Who wouldn't want those thighs wrapped around their face. I AM ONLY HUMAN!
  4. Martins is one of the only players who gets me excited (not like that) when the ball is at his feet. Plus, his thighs are MASSIVE.
  5. I never thought he did that badly. Another case of people saying 'not good enough' without realising we have no better. He can easily do what Ryan Taylor does, but alot better. HOWEVER he probably isn't mobile enough in a 3 man midfield without two very mobile players like Jonas and Guthrie or Duff etc. I do think his passing ability could really help us though. Especially with Owen and Martins upfront.
  6. Regardless of form or fitness, the more I think about it, the more a Martins-Viduka-Owen strikeforce fills me with happiness. Not sure any of them will last a full game though... well, maybe Owen.
  7. The only worry about him 'geeing' up the players is that it looks like we won't see anyone being dropped... Hope I'm wrong. How they can say Enrique being fit is bad is a bit strange, probably a mistake. I love the guy, one of the first names on the teamsheet for me.
  8. This is going to be unwatchable. Can't wait! I hope he picks the right team. I can't be arsed sitting through another game saying 'what the fuck is he doing on?' or 'where's ____'.
  9. To be honest we really need the other results to go our way. For this weekend, Liverpool vs. Hull - Hopefully we can rely on Liverpool to keep Hull in freefall. West Brom vs. Sunderland - Need a West Brom win I say, although it leaves them only two points behind us. Arsenal vs. Middlesbrough - NEED Arsenal to win. Middlesbrough can pull out the odd surprise when they are the underdogs though. This game scares me. Blackburn vs. Wigan - Wigan win needed obviously. Another game which could screw us. If all goes incredibly well and we win it would leave us 18th, 1 point behind Blackburn and Hull and 2 behind Sunderland. THEN we are looking at a manageable task. However, it saddens me that we now are relying heavily on other fixtures. If these don't go our way we are fucked.
  10. I'd rather we stuck on Gonzalez than the CM's we have now. At least he's Argentinian, that's probably as close as we'll get to scaring the opposition.
  11. Put this in the wrong thread, so here goes again. I'd go for this Harper Beye Taylor Bassong (Enrique) (Barton)/Guthrie Jonas (Lovenkrands)/Duff Owen Martins Viduka Players in brackets I would play if fit. I think our defence is strong enough now to withstand the extra strain from only a 3 man midfield (to be honest the usual midfield puts them in more trouble). It may be a bit too attacking but f*** it if we don't score we can't ever get three points.
  12. What a poor performance. Firstly, it was clear that a player with even an ounce of quality upfront is a must. Unfortunately Viduka looks to be the only one. He seems to link up well with Martins and could surely exploit the occassionaly decent runs that Owen makes. We also need someone who can deliver a ball. It was embarrassing that Ryan Taylor couldn't get it past the first man. Ruins the chance and offers a counter attack opportunity for the other team. Fucking disgraceful. Even Duff's delivery was better than his. Despite Geremi being pretty poor sometimes he is worth a shout even just for this, plus I don't think he is half as bad as people make out. Butt was pretty terrible today. I respect him for his work rate but the passing is terrible. Luckily our defence doesn't seem to be too bad nowadays. Bassong, Taylor, Beye and Enrique are all quality players so I suppose it lets us focus on the shite elsewhere in the team. It may be a bit too attacking but fuck it if we don't score we can't ever get three points.
  13. www.wikipedia.org might know Birth date: 10.12.1990 Damn, I'm five days younger than him... is there anyone younger?
  14. To be fair if he scored another wondergoal vs Spurs I would happily marry my mother.
  15. Just because we're f***ing s*** now doesn't mean Parker was a quality player, I wasn't a fan and yes he is better than what we've got now and I would have him in our side right now in a heartbeat but that shows poor management since his departure rather than that Parker is a quality player. Fair point. I agree with you there actually, but I do think we had a player we could build a team around. He was one of the most solid players we have had in a while and took the captaincy happily and played with his heart always. So many games I seen him and I thought 'why is he even bothering' because the rest of the team were just awful. I missed N'Zogbia out for some reason. He was another of my favourites, some amount of flair and scared the shit out of many full backs.
  16. I have always said, if Stephen Ireland had a cool name people would be all over him. Seriously though, would happily pay a fair bit of money for him but A. He won't ever ever ever come and B. We need good players around him. We have this stupid idea that if we buy one good player all will change. Owen may not have lived up to the hype, but he has had a fair amount of shite to deal with team-wise.
  17. I bet the people shitting on Parker won't say anything now. The man was a brilliant player and he got nothing but rubbish from people on here near the end. Look how much we have suffered without a player like him. My opinion obviously, but whenever I seen him he was great. Would KILL to have him in the team now. I'd much rather be going into the relegation fight with Solano, Dyer, Emre, Parker but what we have now still should be enough, however, what did those four have that the team now doesn't have (barring a few obvious players)? Quality, and plenty of it.

    Jonas Gutierrez

It's bloody annoying not knowing whether he was dropped or an impact sub or whatever. But surely Shearer has to see he is a key player!
  19. Harper Beye Taylor Bassong Enrique Butt Jonas Duff Owen Carroll Martins -------------------------------------------- Assuming Enrique, Taylor and Martins are fit I reckon we could get the three points. I'm well fired up for this game, cannot wait! Also, I don't like the criticism of Nicky Butt. I think he is the best player we have for that role infront of the defence. Jonas showed his obvious class with some brilliant through balls against Stoke, if he doesn't start I'm going to cry. Likewise, if Ryan Taylor starts I'm going to cry, possibly more. Duff has been great in the last few games imo. The least you can say is he has worked fucking hard and been a nuisance for the other team.
  20. I thought he said 12 from the next 18. Probably misquoted, but if not I like his optimism.
  21. Oh man, thank fuck for that. I liked the idea of a 3 pronged attack (obviously before it was cancelled due to Oba). But Ameobi? I think if we are going to try it again, swap Carroll for Ameobi and get Jonas on. Why the fuck didn't he start!?
  22. If anything this is a diamond opportunity to turn the corner, never mind close the gap. We have to win this, there are many benefits to be had.
  23. Funny if he turned out to be an absolutely terrible, terrible manager. Puts Geremi in goals and shit.
  24. "shore got'a purdy mouth Cacapa" it would be exactly like that. I don't think we have a chance sadly, the formation i agree with you, if swap Loven with Owen. Cheers, well hopefully, if he plays something like that, we will play it down the wings and into feet. It does my head in how much we hoof it up the park. We have defenders now who are capable of playing it out the back (Colo, Enrique, Beye) into the midfield. I also feel that arsenal have more class than Chelsea which was why they were able to make us crumble. If we come out against Chelsea like we did against Arsenal we could snatch a point. But it would take a miracle...
  25. In the last two seasons teams have stayed up with 36 points (Fulham on GD) and 38 (Wigan on GD) so we should be aiming to hit 40 which is 11 points. In our remaining games I believe we have 6 games in which we can get something from (maybe being hopeful with Aston Villa and Tottenham). The Stoke, Fulham, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth games are VITAL. I still think we can stay up but by god I would kill for 17th place at the moment.
