Nothing is ever totally equal. I am only talking about the 'choice of words' to use in conversation.

Who do you think are really "bigger clubs" now? When I speak or write about things like this I now say . . "other big clubs". Seems to make more sense!

What very old fashioned and out of date thinking. We live in one of the UKs greatest 'Regional Capital' Cities, with one of the greatest football clubs in the world who are on the rise with an almost 'perpendicular' trajectory. and yet (you say) there are still some people (who happen to be footballers?) who somehow or other seem to think differently. Weird, madness !!! -

ASM . . . -
Fortunately we are now owned by one of the family members of the property developers the Reuben Bros, and by the P I F. They are not the type of people to see problems, only solutions.

Please do not twist my words and please do not imply that I am saying EXACTLY the opposite of what I am actually saying.

Yes, we need to extend SJP !!
-
Leazes Park Stadium would be fantastic, the John Hall plans wanted exactly that until the nimbys got in. However, an expanded St James' Park would be (for me) light years better. Now that we have the owners who (uniquely) can optimise the SJP expansion, I will always want that. It will be amazing, different (as now really) from anywhere else in England.

Historically perhaps, currently yes definitely, but in the very near future . . . N O !!!!!!

I'm surprised to see you say that. I can understand the logic of what you say and how that could come about, but I absolutely feel that (uniquely) we have owners that want to make St James' Park give us everything we want and need, and that they are well capable of "making it happen". What a place our famous SJP will be then !!!

I think that if you knew about my history on here you would know that what you have said is the opposite of the truth. My most frequently used word always has been . . . R E A L I S T I C !!!!!

All I can say about all of those points you make is "who writes your stuff"? Honestly, your thought processes must be very odd, to produce such a collection of comments, particularly the last one. You almost sound like you come from Sunderland !!

I have put two sections of your post (Wandy) in bold. First section - just simply not true ("vast majority" !!!!) just not true at all. Second section - not relevant to the point under discussion.

What is it with people? Just accept that our astute new owners agree with most Newcastle United supporters - we will expand St James' Park as much as all the money in the world will enable us to, and whatever we do we are staying at St James' Park !!!

The "London" airports are now . . . London Heathrow London Gatwick London Stansted London City London Southend London Luton London Oxford

As has been said . . . "you are either on the inside, or you are outside looking in. I prefer being inside and being able to compete". Being on the inside is G R E A T !!!

It is not a bad thing in any way !! It is the most effective way of funding a large and successful football club. There is no dispute about that. It is a 'more recent' way of doing things - but that (being newish) doesn't make it bad. Our world continually changes and THAT change has already happened.
-
Out of interest, why do you not "agree with" this? It is, whether we like it or not, the full and well established future of very top level football. We either join in (which we have) or sit there in permanent nothingness. I know what I prefer, I never think about it now, "it is us / we are it" ALL one thing, with a V E R Y exciting future for us.

Of course. Indoctrination is a very powerful thing, particularly 'lifelong' indoctrination. It is almost impossible to cure, and those impacted do not know what they are losing by all the time they spend on these things - until it is too late.

I don't dislike religious people at all. But I do wonder about their sanity. To waste the short time that we all have on this planet constantly fantasising about a 'thing' that doesn't exist (so you can feel comfortable and safe) is so very sad for them. Life is for living, while we have it.

With the club constantly (and brilliantly) fighting down the original "Newcastle Tax" scenario, by their constant references to FFP etc, it is understandable that people and media are becoming convinced of the lack of money. It is a brilliant bit of work !! Personally, I have felt for a while that we will get B O T H of these, plus Tierney. Watch this happy space !!!!!!!!!!!! -
The old 'Centre Paddock' where I had my first season ticket, which was a 'standing' season ticket.
