Welcome to the team young fella. That makes two of us !!! Three, I've been 100% in from day one. (the rest of them just don't want to get their hopes up in case they get let down, must have had a lot of disappointment in their lives) We should form a band . . . "The Manorparkians". We Manorparkians know that our owners are (already) Staveley/PIF/Reubens. Here's to our great future !!! OUR world, there are three of us now, so watch out we're gonna takeover (to use that well known word!) By the way, our world is also the REAL world. Approval is inevitable, say the Manorparkians !!

It's not a company from SA it's SA. The PL themselves described PIF as a company in SA like. whose chairman happens to be the crown prince of saudi arabia (and as far as I understand he's been making more and more decisions for the country the last few years) and its literally the public investment fund of saudi arabia how the hell can it not be considered an arm of the KSA goverment But what difference does it make if it's a company, the crown prince or the king himself! Just because bein is banned in SA, they can't own a PL club? Still a totaly different question. By blocking Bein, the value of the broadcasting rights just decreased considerably in the MENA region and they are fucking with a massive partner of the PL. Obviously the PL will take all that into consideration. Take this as me being ignorant, but is that relevant? Of course it is to the PL, but by their own OD test, is that relevant? Of course it is not relevant, but unfortunately a fair few people on here are now so "twitchy" that they break down in anguish if the wind changes direction! I keep on saying this, all is well and our long dreamed of positive announcement is not (now) far away. C A L M . . .

Having just yawned through the Brighton game on Sky, this season has to mark the end of the Ashley/Bruce era. For everyone's sanity.

It's clearly not done ffs I can't 'force' you !!!

Well that's very strange if the takeover is still on. Which if this news is anything to go by it may not be. Been exhaustively discussed already on this thread. This has no impact on the Takeover.

It was done a long time ago but isn't approved? Not sure how that works. It really isn't done like. It was done a long time ago, contracts exchanged, Ashley sold to the Reubens/PIF/Staveley, but the governing body of the sport needs to 'approve' the commercially already done deal, before our owners can play football in their league. That is why approval was always definite, as the PL cannot change history, but they are extracting as much as they can from the deal, while they have this period of 'leverage'. That's an incredible spin on it like. It's wrong though. The "commercially already done deal" is dependent on the PL signing it off. If they don't sign it off, the deal doesn't happen. That's nothing to do with changing history. It's not 'spin' its is simple fact. The deal has been done, which is why it has taken the Premier League (because they KNOW the deal is done) so very long to issue their approval, as it is their one and only opportunity to get what they feel they need from the deal. This reality will be made clear, no doubt, in the "post approval" announcements. I'm trying to follow your logic here, so bear with me. You seem to be suggesting the deal for Mike Ashley to sell NUFC to the PIF/PCP/RB consortium has been finalised. You also seem to be rejecting the notion that that deal is "subject to PL approval". By that logic, why have an O&D test? Just sign the contracts, and the PL can't do anything? Alternatively, if the deal is not subject to PL approval, and the PL rejects the PIF/PCP/RB takeover, then wouldn't the consortium be obligated to complete the purchase of NUFC, but not be given approval to play in the Premier League? They would have shelled out for nothing more than the registration of the players, and the training ground That is why I say, and have always said "PL Approval is inevitable", even though they are 'using' the process to deal with as many Saudi-related problems that they can, hence the delay.

Wow, people are really getting their knick**s in a twist over the least bit of 'imagined bad news'. Nothing has changed, the Takeover is done (a long time ago now) the Premier League are getting as much out of it as they can from the Saudi's before it is approved (and I don't blame them). This is a huge "one-off" situation for them to ensure future monies and to avoid future Middle East Piracy. C A L M . . .

I agree with that last sentence entirely. Some people on here seem to forget the proven business calibre of all the people who are buying the club. The Reubens, PIF, Stavely, are ALL very good at what they do, very good indeed. I think many seem to forget this, I suppose this is after 13 years of us being owned by a disinterested 'chancer' who just got lucky in the past in business. Our new owners are very, very, different !!! Aye, it’s not Ashley and his mates that we’re used to, it’s a legal team larger than our playing squad. They’ve got something planned, it’s not been done by accident or in spite. Whatever it is, it trumps the opinion of the naysayers on here and this is something they’ll have to get used to. Yes, please remember that this "long delay" will seem like five minutes, once we "get going" under our three new owners. Just let your mind wander forward to the endless stream of common-sense, ambitious, and articulate statements and interviews about OUR club from our owners and new manager . . . that in itself will be fantastic (think of the MEDIA coverage!) and all of that is in addition to the permanently much enhanced playing side of things !!! It is happening, just wait a little bit (a 'tiny' little bit) longer people . . . She helped broker the deal which made Man City the richest club in the world. She came to buy us and was forced into playing Ashley’s game, ultimately seeing his toys being thrown out of the pram, and her being personally insulted publicly. She then came back with even big investors which would make Newcastle 10 times as rich as the Man City deal she brokered (at least on paper). She has met with local MP’s, councillors, and land owners about developing areas of Newcastle. She has met with fans groups to talk to them about how they think the club should be ran. She is a in a high court battle with Barclays where she claims she is owned over £1bn. You don’t get to go to the high court for a case like that unless both your very expensive and very good lawyers, and the very experienced judge think you have a realistic chance of winning. Why is she no longer credible? Is it because this test is taking a long time? That’s not her fault, you need to knock on the Premier League’s door for that one. Is it because she has said to Caulkin that she thinks there will be a positive outcome and it will be approved? The D&O test maybe taking some time, but she’s not been wrong so far has she? If Staveley's ideas and visions were coming from a chap called Kevin with a slightly dodgy mullet or a guy called Rafa with a nice pair of glasses the drool emoji would be out in force. It's exactly the type of owner we need All three of our new owners are exactly the owners we need.

More importantly, the length of time in discussion means that they obviously have not 'failed it' either !! Either you pass a test or you don't! For some odd reason we seem to be somewhere in between. That should be impossible. Think doing a test at school, a test for your driving licence or any other test. Would you ever get the answer "You haven't passed, but you didn't fail"? Im the same with the car, if its fails its MOT I scrap it and get a new one. The new owners will be trying to resolve the issues that the Premier League are asking them to resolve. There could be no other logical reason for such a lengthy delay. That is why I see the takeover as being so very definitely successful . . . in due course !!

How old were you when it started? My Dad told me about it when I got old enough. He started by saying - "now, a few years before you were born . . . "

Yes, I mentioned this a while back. I see the 27th July as the very last day approval will be given, hopefully it will be before that, otherwise we could really lose out on some top players. As if the premier league care if we miss out on top players. The Premier League are not our enemy, though I can understand why some may feel like they are at present! We are one of their clubs, and we are about to become one of their major clubs. I do think they will want to try and get this done in the interests of fairness, before Deadline Start Day of 27th July, and (logically) I think that this is what will happen.

Worrying, very worrying. EXCEPT - we don't know enough to 'know' whether this actually is worrying (takeover rejected/toys thrown out of pram) OR whether it means takeover agreed and PL agree to Saudi plans. For F**ks sake . . SOMEONE in authority SAY something !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do people agree with me that the Takeover verdict will have to be announced (at the latest) when the summer Transfer Window opens on July 26th?

Source - https://www.ft.com/content/38cd4b7e-32fd-11ea-a329-0bcf87a328f2 The article states "The UK could also include sanctions against citizens of Saudi Arabia implicated in the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018". I don't think the PIF had anything to do with that.
