    Harvey Barnes

Eh? This is a joke right? He is a good player that has had an unfortunate injury. Nah, this is definitely a joke. No idea why I replied. It was a good joke.
  2. Probably the first result that could see the crowd turn on him ? I hope they try to play and don’t just look to injury us. The adrenaline alone will make it a bit more even. Hope it’s a classic!
  3. We’re one of the numbers to look out for on BBC live updates. Classy.

    Lewis Hall

Context - Lewis Hall will/would get his A-Level results today. I’ve wasted my life.
  5. Aye, Isak should be a non negotiable. I’m fully confident that Bruno’s contract will be sorted out, but I think that mentally preparing for his departure, with Tonali coming in, makes it a bit of an easier task. Having said that… it should be an insane offer to even get a response based on the current market. We’re in the CL and attack the cups; our players don’t need to leave for the first time in a generation. It’s a great feeling.
  6. Haven’t had a City supporter here since Dr. Spectrum. Welcome @Maineblue, looking forward to the Oil Classico next week!
  7. Wilson and Barnes will be a double sub at some point.

    Tino Livramento

I would love to see the rest of that scorecard.
  9. exciting! Big fan of Les Mis.
  10. It’s not a new thing. There have been numerous arguments on here in the past about only local fans being ‘real’ fans, or those who go to the games actually count. It isn’t anything that is NUFC specific. All canvases have a level of tribalism and a good percentage of idiots that come in varying degrees. Sports and football in particular is as polarising as politics.
  11. I’d say 35 is about right. His end product isn’t massive and he’s not an international. Would I like it to be higher? Absolutely. I can see why it wouldn’t be though.
  12. He’s a piece of shit. Was bang to rights of assault but found not guilty by a Liverpool-based jury.
  13. “Hi LCFC, we would like to buy a player from you” ”We want more money than what you are offering” *scene missing* LCFC CFO joins NUFC
  14. Fair enough, agree to disagree on the place then. I personally really liked the parts I’ve visited. Agree about the traffic though.
  15. I was close to moving over to SA and was going to be in the Antara (?) compound in Riyadh I think. Had a look around, it was brilliant.
  16. What do you think living there would be like? He’d be in a compound with all the other millionaire footballers, living a life of luxury. His quality of life would far exceed anything he’s had before now. Things are changing very fast in Saudi. I live in the UAE and there are churches and synagogues popping up more and more. It’ll take a little time, but it won’t be long before the more orthodox regions follow suit.
  17. Yeah and I 100% appreciate that sales will need to be made, that the team will change and evolve and that sometimes you have to sacrifice a player to improve. My issue is the posts that are becoming more and more common of people saying to just sell player X, Y or Z for the sake of bringing in someone else. We have only a handful of ‘legacy’ players that would bring in any kind of fee. That doesn’t mean that we necessarily cut and run at the first opportunity.
  18. I agree. It’s mind boggling how many people want to carve up a successful team that has bonded and achieved two massive things that literally have not been seen in almost a generation - a cup final and CL qualification. But nah, ship them out to buy someone else. They’re not good enough. As above… buy first and then move on. This is a long term project.

    Players in public

One way of putting it is that the local approach to parenting is somewhat hands off. I work in a British curriculum school over here, and it is fairly high profile, meaning that it has a pretty large Emirati population with a large portion of these being VIPs in a certain age group. The boys in particular can be a nightmare and because of their status they get away with a lot in comparison to the general student population which is on the whole excellent. this isn’t, of course the case with all local children, but it is certainly a different approach to parenting than what she would see in the west. now that’s all I’ve seen. You see a lot of celebrities over here, but you will see the football is mostly in Dubai as opposed to Abu Dhabi. In answer to the first part of your post, most bars, restaurants and Cafes can be found in the many five star hotels and resorts all over Abu Dhabi and Dubai. as a result, it is not uncommon to spend your free time in one of the many hotels, as this is where the social spots are.

    Players in public

Eden Hazard was staying at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi the other week and it’s a spot that i frequent. He was at the pool opposite me on one of the days and just loads of people were coming up. He was good about it, but he was with his wife and kids, bucket hat on to hide his face, felt a bit sorry for him. But then it got a bit sour. Some fat local Emirati kids started taunting him, saying that he wasn’t as good as Messi, Mbappe, Ronaldo etc… he said to them that he didn’t understand what they were saying, but he definitely did. Must have touched a nerve because he got up and left 10 minutes later, taking the family with him. Imagine getting to the top of your profession and then mocked by a little fat kid whose heart would pop if he got up to a light jog.
