  1. Don't know much about him, expect he's a young, tall centre half. Pretty sure he played against Boca Juniors the other week. I can see it happening, not sure about it being permanent though.
  2. Highly rated Plymouth centre half? I'm worried about our lack of strikers more than anything. Manchester United centre half. He was on loan.

What was causing Rooney to fall before he reached the keeper then? Instinct (ie dive) If Rooney had gone down but Almunia had got the ball then that'd be fine, since sometimes clashes are inevitable.. but Almunia didn't, he went down towards Rooneys feet when the ball was in the air above him. Regardless of where Rooney was or what he was trying to achieve by going down, Almunia got in his way before he actually did it, creating a foul. By doing what he did the keeper made anything that Rooney was trying to do look like momentum more than simulation.

Haha don't worry, you'll definitely have that with it televised over here. Rumours of a 50k gate too, which is really impressive for a televised game.

It's televised anyway so we'll know soon enough like you say.
  6. He's in the squad I think it was said the other day on nufc.co.uk
  7. He should rest, really. It'll only worsen the injury to a full blown break. Plus it was against Huddersfield.

He was going down before any contact was made. The picture above shows it. That, to me, is a clear indication that Rooney was trying to cheat. How is that a clear penalty? Well that still frame is very deceiving to be honest but if we're going to use that as evidence we can see that the ball is above Almunia, who is diving at Rooneys feet. Regardless of whether he was falling over or not, Almunia went for the man and not the ball. Penalty. In real life Almunia slid over much faster and Rooney was running at a fast speed, hence the keepers lack of judgement and the probably of Rooney losing momentum. You could even argue that Rooney has his eyes on the ball, not Almunia so he wasn't as aware of him coming in at his feet. The fact is that Almunia went for the ball, missed in a big way and took out a falling Rooney. He didn't even have to come up like he did since Rooney was heading away from goal.
  9. He was clipped by Almunia, totally different from the Eduardo situation. wasnt clipped There was no contact? that smiley suited you right now, Rooney clearly fell over way before this alleged "contact" It was still a pen though, because Almunia still took out Rooney, regardless of whether he was able to remain standing or not.
  10. I have no interest in what other clubs fans have to say. That crimwatch bit needs cutting out. It's absolute bollocks. Also, she has no need for a headset.
  11. I really dislike Sheffield United.
  12. thats seriously getting on my nerves But to be fair Newcastle away IS a fair old poke, isn't it. f*** off, you pasty-eating pig f***er. Green army!

Like the transfer deadline really matters. As a championship club we can loan players outside of the official deadline date for an extended period and there's some half decent free agents still about that could do a job until the winter transfer window. Still very doubtful we'll get sold at all though.

Really? That's interesting. I personally don't think that Almunia is good enough to be their first choice goalie, and I also think that Diaby, Song and Ramsey are very poor as central midfielders to pair with Fabregas. I do however think that they are a CM and a GK away from a title challenge. I think they lack a striker, maybe a strong DM. Definitely a keeper. Walcott doesn't do it for you for striker? He should be back for the next game, another scorer there. I personally happen to think Song and/or Denilson is a fine pairing for Cesc, and that Arsenal don't really have weak spots, short of their very young bench, just an overall lack of experience will be the reason they don't win the league. But even though they probably won't win, they'll be the best team, if that makes any sense. Sort of like today, they were clearly better than ManU, but still managed to lose. I don't see Walcott as a natural goalscoring striker. They haven't replaced Henry in my eyes - or Viera arguably. They have goals from all over the pitch, especially with players like Arshavin, but I see him as more of a Beardsley. They need a Ferdinand/Cole/Shearer type striker... in my eyes anyway.

I rate him higher than Almunia, and not just because of that daft penalty just then. Almunia seems to suffer massively from crisp packet hands. There's no way either of them will win the league with the goalies they had today playing over 75% of their league games. Foster is f***ing dreadful Definitely. Manchester United have VDS to come back at least but I have no idea why Almunia is still first choice.

And on a bank holiday too. Will you hark at it. I wonder if I would be this cynical if there was no NUFC.
