  1. You're right, I'm not an 'educated football' like you, my spherical friend. I'm hoping they can peat PSG tonight, so we can stay fourth.......behind Montpellier BAM! Silly bear.
  2. You do make me chuckle. Silly bear.
  3. absolute hogwash of the highest order. if you sign a contract you stick to it if you expect the other to stick to their side. lets say he was s***, would he have admitted it and said, "nah sorry newcastle, i've been s***, you shou;ld be well within your rights to slash my pay"...but no it doesn't work that way. the club have to pay him as per contract regardless of performance...he shouls fulfill his side of the contract likewise. So what would you like him to have done then. Have a guess.
  4. On his day, that player is unplayable. ..when the transfer window slams shut. (I fucking loathe that saying) When people call youngish footballers, like 23-25 year olds 'lads' even though they're younger than the player they're describing. 'I think the lad did well' etc.
  5. Its not that simple though. Stoke had a Championship team on paper and finished 12th. It comes down to good management and team spirit. Two things we didn't have last year and Stoke did. Now we have and we also have the quality, which is why we look like running away with the league. Say there are 150 players in this classification. Then not all of them can play for the 3 teams that get relegated. I take your point about management but that wasnt what i was talking about. I was talking about the gulf in class in the leagues and how some players can therefore fall between the two. But we aren't one of those sides who are full of players too good for the championship but not good enough for the prem. Nolan, Smith, Jonas, Barton, Harper, Guthrie, Taylor and Enrique are proven Premiership players, who we are spoilt and blessed to have in this league. Butt and Geremi are proven but have arguably seen better days. The only players i'd maybe put in that category are Ameobi and Ryan Taylor. Ameobi clearly a class apart in this division but won't get 20 goals in the Premiership. Having said that Taylor still did well for Wigan and Ameobi would probably do well for someone like Burnley or Bolton. So no i don't think we've actually got any players who aren't good enough for the Premiership. Not many strikers do to be fair. Ameobi has always been let down by his horrific injury record, by the time he gets back up to fitness and used to games he'll break down again. I said this after the hat trick against Reading and a few people said I was just shooting him down for no reason, but the man's a wreck. He had a hip operation at 26 or so, that's a major place to have recurring injuries. Regardless of what you say about our other players, we aren't good enough for the premiership because we got relegated fairly easily from the premiership. We may have prem-standard players, I've said this myself with players like Nolan when they're up for it, but a team is so much more than the individual abilities of the players in it. Teams with championship dross have stayed up for the opposite reason we went down. They were a team.
  6. Its patently obvious the powers that be for the last 2 seasons have not thought of it though. Butt should never have pulled on a Newcastle shirt again after the defeat at Derby 2 years ago but carried on as the 'midfield dynamo' of choice right up until our demise. Do you not find that puzzling? I do. Well back when we played Derby we had hardly any academy options.. the problem then was a lack of depth in the central midfield role as far as I remember. Who were our actual options for that day? I remember the likes of Barton being injured. Also negative tactics played a big part, since Butt was really useful that season when Keegan used him, Geremi and Barton in a midfield 3 where they could use short quick passes and not have so much pressure to retain possession themselves. They also had Owen dropping in deep. I agree with you that youth should be used, but experience counts for a lot in this league and its not as if your point hasn't been said time and time again in other threads.
  7. Don't you normally come over for a live game? Yeah, but this is the last game I get to see this year period, not just live. I'm joining the Air Force and I'm off to basic training on the 14th Oh man, that's pretty major stuff. Good luck with that and err... enjoy the game?

    RIP sale thread.

I don't know if it's a wind up or not.. he could well know whats going on. He's still acting like a prick though.

    RIP sale thread.

Stop being a prick and just tell us something if you know it. This vague stuff is getting on my tits.
  10. I'd never thought of using our youth players before now. Thank you, thank you ever so much for opening my eyes.
  11. viduka = leeds He's not that big. Viduka isn't big? He's not small but he's never managed 300000 people inside him at once yet. My ex has probably managed it. Whore.
  12. viduka = leeds He's not that big. Viduka isn't big? Not the size of a city, no.
  13. has he? Sort of. He agreed back in June to sign for them and they haven't heard from him since. He's also done a similar thing with Fulham I think. So he could be anyway.. even behind you, right..... NOW! Bet you jumped. Fag.
  14. Just a little reminder folks.. after today we still have the entire month of January to sell players.. players that will probably be performing out of their skin until then in this division. Just so you all know. Big kisses.
  15. Last summer we enquired about Vagner Love a few times.. it was reported in a local over there according to my Uncle that is pretty much always right since the club tells them everything about transfer news.
  16. Haha losing to us clearly got to him. I don't think he enjoyed his time here too much.

    Steve Harper

Harper has played what, 4 games now and kept a clean sheet in each one? Aside from that he's made crucial saves aswell. Managers didn't take a risk on these keepers, they played them when their number one choice was injured, or in the case of the 3 keepers you named, were phenomenal for their age. Krul is ok, but he lacks experience which is crucial in this league. Deal with it and stop whimpering on about this pathetic Krul Krush that you have.
  18. he always does, it's f***ing disgusting according to Djmattis we should stop 'bothering him' about it though And Hughton always seems reluctant to make a few subs before the 80th minute. Geremi and Nolan looked absolutely knackered, I don't know how both played the full 90. Yeah but it made sense to wait last night. Making subs too soon could have blown it for us. As soon as Vuckic/Donaldson came on we lost pretty much all of our attack and ball retention going forward. Doing that from 60/70 minutes could have cost us. I think on the whole Hughton has been decent enough with his subs and when he's brought them on.
  19. Oh aye, I pop downstairs to watch TV and all of a sudden the pre-match thread wolves are at the door! I'm glad for the international break, it means we'll have some players rested and injured ones coming back hopefully.
  20. Only ever featured against Boca Juniors in that Audi cup thing I think.
