  1. Cheers for that. What a waste of peoples' time and money. This club is so depressing right now.
  2. until he got the job full-time Shola played reasonably at the beginning of Roeders full season in charge up until his hip injury. he had about 2 goals from 15 games before the injury, right? Well I wasn't too sure after you posted that so I checked it out and according to Wiki* he made 13 appearances that season with 3 of them as a sub and scored 5 goals before injury. *Yeah, I know I only remember the offside goal against Everton and the goal on day one against Wigan for that entire season. No way is it 5 goals Oh right, couldn't have happened then could it, Oracle? Sure he scored a few in Europe.

  4. Don't know about that. I remember his goal against Everton (in October I think) so well. - Roeder talks about how in training the players having been working hard all week on not being offside with the way Everton had been pushing on free kicks against them. - FK to us in the game ball goes in. Everton defence pushes up. Shola manages to be static and still a good 2 yards off even before Everton defenders had moved. Heads it. And the linesman doesn't flag Aye I remember that, 1-1 in the end I think. He definitely wasn't prolific, but he scored a few goals and didn't look a total liability.. I have no idea what we'd have done that season if Martins had got an injury tho.

He played well against Man U reserves from what I remember too, I think he needs an open game and plenty of time to pull the trigger though - maybe just a confidence issue? More experience I'd say. He's got the potential to be very good.. awareness in games just comes in time.
  7. Still better than all of our players though..true legend. Beat me to it. He's still a class act, same as Scholes.
  8. This thread implies there actually is a takeover.. and it really doesn't feel like any progress has been made since Villa away, even though there clearly has been. The last few months have beaten most of the joy out of supporting this club. I can take relegation and embarrassing losses and all of that, but this just feels like a complete and utter standstill and we're the ones that are suffering. This shit aint healthy.
  9. He was terrible in the Championship for Stoke. He'll be next to no use for us in any league for the simple reason that he can't string more than 2-3 good performances together without breaking down with an injury for X amount of weeks or months.

    RIP sale thread.

Glad I read this before wading through that ridiculous hissy fit on the previous pages. ..is what I should be saying.
  11. I have no idea why I find this picture so hilarious.
  12. Isn't that one of the reasons the club is in the state it is now? Shepherd going all out with the contract offers landed us with Owen, Luque, etc. Not really the same. If Owen and Luque had played like players deserving of their transfer fee/wage demands then both would have been worthwhile signings. It wasn't the amount necessarily being spent, but what on that was the problem. An improved and extended contract for Bassong could be a decent bit of business since we all know of his quality and potential. Yes, I agree we should try to keep Bassong but are we really going to offer him Premiership wages when we are in the Championship? The mess the club is in at the moment it's not exactly nailed on that we will be back in the Premiership in a season. Well it all depends on how much Spurs were offering him and how much Bassong wanted. I don't imagine it'd be a massive amount to be honest and I can't see him being on much more than a youth wage here. Obviously if he is asking for a lot then fair enough but when I read it I thought he was just asking for a good wage that reflected his age and ability.. whatever that might be.

    I have a question.

So you got us relegated on FM? Cunt.

    RIP sale thread.

One question for you. Would you prefer Newcastle United to be in a) the Premiership or b) the Championship? One question for you. Would you say banana's are a) too yellow or b) not yellow enough? Depends on the banana.
  16. I'd laugh, but I have this awful feeling if he can't find a club, he'll come crawling back to us and we'll be stupid enough to give him another contract. The beauty of this is that we're broke so there's literally no way of offering him any kind of contract that he'd accept. But on the other hand, we're broke.
  17. I wouldn't replace Bosingwa with Johnson.
  18. They have a unique TV deal that sees only them gain profits from each TV viewing. I think last seasons was roughly 150 million or something stupid. They can basically afford anyone they want just on the back of this. Not to mention stuff like champions league money, merchandise sales and the brand name in itself.. they pretty much have the whole of South America on their side.
  19. As usual West Ham have a hand in shitting all over everything.
  20. I was saying Boo-eckham.

    Xisco

Or what? We're nothing but horrified onlookers with each and every mess this club falls into. This'll be no different. No doubt Luque and Xisco will be high-fiving on the same team this time next year or something.
