I'd like to think that he'll do well in the under-21s and prove pivotal in getting us promoted next season. However..

    Obafemi Martins

Yeah, what's everyones problem? Probably the self-destruction of a major fixture of our lives.

    The new chairman

Lets write a letter and do a sing-song about how we want our perfect chairman to be. Then Mike Ashley can rip it up and throw it in the fire.. hopefully the news will get to Mary Poppins and we'll be saved. This place has gone mental with news in the last 12 hours.
  4. I met you in Paris in June of last year, you said I was the only toon fan you'd seen about. Where in Paris did I bump into you? Ey? Ey?
  5. The majority of football fans tend to be idiots.. it certainly isn't exclusive to Newcastle fans like the stereotype suggests. When Everton were linked with Smith people their fans were saying on message boards that they could get the best out of him and that his Newcastle form was a bit of a 'blip'. Some said similar when we signed him. Malouda was brilliant before he went to Chelsea and after his first season he was worse than James Milner. People were saying that Torres would be too flimsy and weak for the Premiership too.. end of the day we're nothing more than a bunch of armchair pundits.
  6. I was thinking that when I saw Lampard on the ball, just before he took the shot. Malouda nearly scores, Pienaar injured.
  7. I don't know if he's being wasted as such, but I fail to see how anyone can say that Fergie hasn't changed his game dramatically. He was much more sporadic, unpredictable and exciting earlier in his career and whilst at Man Utd he's been calmed down somewhat, but his teamwork and work ethic has increased a hell of alot. It's all opinion on which player you'd want in your team but I'd opt for the Euro 2004 Rooney easily.
  8. I accepted relegation reasonably quickly and with many of my friends being die hard forest or wednesday fans I'm really looking forward to some of the away days. Gaining promotion is crucial for the clubs long term future, but playing in the 2nd tier won't put me off this wonderful club one jot.
  9. It's obviously going to focus on us more though isn't it, what with 16 consecutive premier league seasons, with numerous cup runs, Champions League & UEFA appearances..
  10. Despite everything I don't have a massive disliking towards Owen like I do some players who have played here. I still reckon that he'd score the goals in a stable team that creates plenty of chances, which is a million miles from where we've been for a long time. On the other hand I can't wait to get him off the wage bill, it was an ill advised signing in hindsight, although I envisaged great things when he first signed.
  11. Had my first final-day dream last night. We drew 1-1 with Villa and Hull drew 0-0 with Man Utd. I woke up before I checked the Mackems score.
  12. Its that stupid rule where the table gets frozen after so many games in the season.

Shak.. what on earth were you searching for to get that? I'm having doubts about you, man.
  15. Why do you even bother supporting Newcastle and watching the matches? It blatantly brings you no joy whatsoever.
  16. its giving me the chance to say, i told you so........ Way to go, big man.
  17. It sounded very quiet in parts. It's understandable I guess.
  18. Thats a bit critical, hardly in acres of space. Nolans ball was lovely.
  19. Selling Milner wasn't the mistake, failing to have a suitable replacement lined up was. There were rumours of that Bastian Schweinsteiger had been sounded out but that's not really good enough is it. Failing to secure a replacement before selling a very useful player on his day, given the state of our squad at the time, is just criminal.
