Surely prices would go down rather than increase, since clubs aren't under a time limit to sign players, causing the selling club to hold the buying one to ransom.. I liked it when we didn't have transfer windows.

That SMB forum is mental, someone is comparing Allardyce's bung deals to the murders of Peter Sutcliffe.

Which results? Even early on we weren't doing particularly well under Allardyce. I can remember maybe 2 or 3 good results, the rest were average to diabolical. We were unbeaten at home until November, that's pretty good going if you ask me. Infact we had 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats in the premier league. It wasn't until Portsmouth at home that the wheels came off for us really. Like I said, early on we were getting decent results. This is exactly what the press were saying at the time, completely ignoring the fact that we'd had an incredibly easy start to the season. I'm not ignoring the fact that it was an easier start to the season than most, if not every other team. All I'm saying is that for the first few months we were getting results against teams that we'd expect to get results off, with only 1 major blip - that being Derby. It's not like we're the only team to ever lose to a team much worse than our own on paper. My argument was that we were doing good at the start of Allardyce's campaign and it wasn't all terrible results and performances like some people make out. I'm glad he was sacked as I never really wanted him here in the first place, but I'm willing to recognise that for a short amount of time we were getting results and things didn't look all bad.

Allardyce will do well at Blackburn, at least in the short term. He may have flopped massively with us, but early on we got some good results under him. All depends if the players there want to play for him.

I love to see the end of the transfer window because I'm sick to death of every football article in them few months contain the words "slam shut".

Sissoko is a weird one, off the ball he's a machine, but generally crappy when he's in possession. No idea how he's been at Juve though, maybe the slower pace suits him.

Get in Blyth! I was watching the build up and thinking it was going to be a goal and all! Ace!

Paul Ince is black?!

Not anymore it's not, when everyone is up for it, and a bit of the so-called 'Geordie injustice' has taken place then IMO we can't be beaten. Or like for example the Chelsea home game a few seasons ago when Titus scored. There's loads of little moments where I remember the noise being mental. Even this season, when Shay saved that penalty against Bolton the noise was deafening.

Whenever I see new stadiums like this proposed Spurs one and the one that the dippers were on about making, I think of SJP and smile. I love our stadium so much.

Fits the bill quite nicely - young, available, probably not too pricey, plays on both wings. We could do a hell of a lot worse. And probably will. -
People say this a lot of the time, but the difference is that Gerrard scores goals like this consistently. Any player can have moments of pure brilliance, but it's the quality players that do it on a consistent level, week in week out. I look forward to seeing if Guthrie can maintain his form. Wow, Danny's just changed his MSN status: "is pleased his manager has recognized his good form and hopes to play even better in the near future"

I think Lotus is on about Dwight Johnson, defensive linesman for the Philadelphia Eagles and then later the New York Giants.

Robbie Fowler to Grimsby Town as a player-coach possibly, depending on what happens with Blackburn and his monthly contract there. My nephew is an academy player and Robbie was with Newell talking to the players about it at Blundell Park and how they'd feel about it a few weeks back.

I don't feel too pessimistic about Xisco at the moment. As I understand it he's currently injured, although not listed on physioroom. I wouldn't be surprised to see him later in the season if we've been steered away from the drop zone somewhat. I suppose it'd make sense to rely on players that you know about or are willing to perform for you like Ameobi & Viduka as opposed to a striker that's very new to the league and country, with his best years ahead of him. Could even see him pop up at the KC stadium for the FA cup 3rd round.

It's a bit of a weird one, the way I'm feeling about this club at the moment. On the one hand I'm dubious about us against Spurs at home but on the other I can't wait for our next away fixture. Kerazee.
-
He is right though, Neil Warnock as a fullback would NOT be an improvement on Enrique. ..Although it'd be hilarious to watch.
-
Wasn't one of the games called off the other season because of weather? Or was that at 3 point lane? Martins is on physioroom as no return date - with him in the squad I'll feel confident of getting something, without him not so much. He's played really well and Spurs seem to be his team to play well against. I bet Dawson is lubing up now for a smoother entry.

Now is the time for Nixon to stand up and be counted. Go on my son!

It's like something out of a fucking Saw film. Hello Mr. Ashley, I want to play a game..

Bullard would be good for us, he's also very good with a deadball which is something we tend to lack. I don't expect to see the kind of player we want to see in the middle of the park arriving in January, so based on that if we got Bullard for a few seasons I'd be happy with that for a start. -
3 assists in the league this season so far in 12 (?) appearances in all competitions.

I just go out of my way not to watch them. If I do end up having to watch them it's because we're playing them and we always drown them out anyway.
