Absolutely disgusting that you won with Sunderland @Groundhog63 hang your head in shame, that's dirty money you won there, tainted

Definitely credence in this, not much point in whipping in a dangerous cross or a pinpoint accurate 18 yarder that lands on the penalty spot if you've just sprinted 40 yards and everyone else is behind the play, especially with how deep Wolt plays.

I'd argue we've got a 1 game a week squad, that's the issue.
-
Oh yeah in hindsight it's probably best we sold him when we did, but we definitely miss what he brought to us, very, very difficult to replace.

We've got a decent squad, playing below their capabilities. It cannot be overstated how big a loss Isak is to this team, he was our game changer, our leveller and his replacements are either too raw or not fit. When you have a player like that it lifts the whole team to be more confident and I think that lack of cutting edge has really made us doubt ourselves. There's no denying we are in a slump, we look slow, laborious, indecisive and nervy. A team low on confidence as is evidenced by the sideways and backwards passing, playing hot potato as everyone is too scared to over-commit. It feels like we've been waiting an eternity for it to click and I still have hope that Howe can find the right formula. The next hot streak is just around the corner, but how far away is that corner? These next 3 weeks are pivotal to our season, we could be out of everything and as much as I'd like to see us still battling on 4 fronts, I think it would be best for the team if we did bow out of 1 or 2 competitions so we can refocus and get some alleviation from the relentless schedule.

It started so well for them too, it looked like they finally had their house in order at the start of the season.

New manager bounce, players who checked out under the last manager willing to try for the new one, hopefully a flash in the pan, no one wants to see the plastic mancs do well, except Singapore

Gotta love Spurs doing Spurs things, perennial bottlers

I keep thinking the mackems can't keep this up all season but they're so tenacious, they have such a never say die attitude, it's sickening but if it were any other newly promoted team we'd be cheering them on, it just had to be those horrible inbreds.

Thought we gave a great account of ourselves last night, we were desperately unlucky at times with the woodwork coming to their rescue on more than one occasion and the ball refusing to settle or bounce favourably for us in good positions, I thought we transitioned extremely well at times too. Having said that we had opportunities to go ahead and to level that should have been taken, Wissa's wild blast in the first half the standout miss and Wolts refusal to shoot first time in the second proving frustrating too. I think 2-0 flattered them a little bit and a draw would have been a fair result. Mission Impossible to qualify for the final now, but it's not over until it's over, however slim the chances might be. Credit to all the players last night, there was no lack of effort, I don't think Elanga even played as bad as some are making out. The gulf in class to their bench really sealed it for them, I don't think there's many of their "second string" that wouldn't walk into most PL first teams. Time to look forward to the league and a rare away win against Wolves please.

Totally undeserved that, crazy what a gazillion quid can get you these days

ITV absolutely gutted here

How has that not gone in?

A very good half, progressed the ball really well at time and were Wissa not wearing his clogs tonight we might have had 1 or 2, Hall once again head and shoulders the best player, hes elite! City tried to strangle the game and pass it to death but we've stood firm and dealt with them well. More of that please but at least 1 goal.

Something will have to give in February, we could come out of it with nothing to play for, I'd hope that we'll still be in at least 1 knockout competition but it is a pivotal month in our season and it looks rough. However, it does feel like we play our best football in the face of adversity, backs against the wall, us against the world, so I trust Eddie will have us fired up for every game.
-
He didn't play in West Ham's last game because he wants to force a move through to Flamengo but West Ham rejected their offer, not sure there's enough money in that league to bring him home, it would take a league record to convince West Ham to let him go, especially as they're staring down the barrel this season.
-
Easy to forget he's still only 23 mind, he's still developing as a player and won't peak for another 3 years or so, I have no doubt Howe will turn him into a world beater in time, we just need to have some patience with him and Wissa needs to start picking up some of the slack.
-
He's certainly not the answer to our problems, made a couple of important saves but also a couple of unforced errors and can be a little jittery at times, his distribution wasn't as good as usual either but all is forgiven after his penalty heroics, won us the game in the end and can only be happy about that. Don't love him, don't hate him.
