  1. Not a bad choice, can have a pretty good night out in the Valley which is just out of the city centre.
  2. You eaten at the Normanby? Not as swish as BBC or Riverside, but damn fine steaks there. Breaky Creek Hotel isn't bad, either.
  3. The Belgian Cafe has got to be one of the most overpriced bars anywhere. It's almost banks of the Seine prices for beer in there.
  4. Any Brisbane Mags going to the Pig on Saturday night? I'll make it along for the AFL / Newcastle double header I think.
  5. 4. Look to have got some genuine quality in, yet it still smacks of missed opportunity. The final day shenanigans (Bruiz, Ridgewell) really suggest Ashley and Lambias are taking the piss.
  6. I'll probably be back in Brisbane for the QPR game, haven't booked flights yet though so may stay a little longer. Don't know that anywhere will be open for a 5am kick off except maybe the casino, but that's just a guess. Elephant and Wheelbarrow on Bourke St also shows games, but again doubt they'd be open that time. No idea really. Saturday's game will be a 2.30 start at the MCG.
  7. Sydney's a much better city imo, only ever been there on holiday though. Brisbane's big drawcards are climate and the Gold / Sunny Coasts- it's just the city itself is a little meh. Having said that, it's a lot more lively than it was even ten years ago. Anyway, should be in Melbourne next weekend for the qualifying final on Saturday- you going to make it to the game?
  8. Sydney is a better party town imo. Melbourne is more cultured plus you can walk up side streets in Sydney and not get stabbed Is there that much crime in Melbourne? Sunderland/Liverpool hybrid/inbred of Australia Fuck off Never felt unsafe out at night in Melbourne. On the other hand, we did alright at the organised crime ten years back. Our cops were never quite as bent as yours tbh.
  9. Sydney's the place to go if you want a decent race riot too, tbh.
  10. Fair dinkum got carried away cobber. Anyway, back on topic, the only mackem I've ever met (who admitted to it) was on a night out in Newcastle. He was a wanker and had rank breath. And I've never seen one in Brisbane, let alone Milan. And Sunderland doesn't exist, according to Lonely Planet.
  11. Agree on your last sentence 100%, hate the fucking game. As to Kewell, yeah sure people might go to watch the odd game but it'll be of novelty value only. And compare to the effect that Ablett has had on the Gold Coast- people still turn up to watch Collingwood play up here, not to watch Ablett play. It's the teams that matter long-term, not the individuals. Particularly in Melbourne, where the locals already have loyalty to an AFL club (can't really comment on rugby league in Sydney) it will take a lot longer to truly take off. There's a reason the A-league isn't played in winter, and it's because the FFA just doesn't have the confidence to run against the AFL in the southern states.
  12. Sydney- think she's mostly on the mark. I'm not sure that there is any quick-fix answer for the A-league (and personally not sure if I want one). Football support (whatever the code) is a tribal thing. I've been to a few Brisbane Roar games, and while it was fun there was nothing there that was going to grab me back. And I look around at the crowd, and I think the same probably applies to most of them as well. We've already got our own allegiances- whether they be the Broncos, the Sharks, the Magpies or whoever. A couple of marquee signings here and there aren't going to shake that, developing a viable football competition will take years if not decades.
  13. Okay, ABC state? All I come up with is Anyone But Collingwood, though I don't think Tassie is alone in that. On to the Mackems game- this is a long shot, but does anyone know anywhere on Stradbroke Island to watch the game? I've been roped into a weekend away, and I'm sure it'd be a really popular move for me to head to the pub to watch the game.
  14. So are you bragging or complaining. If he's not bragging, he should be. If it wasn't for the massive Tasmanian chip on your shoulder, you'd be admitting to jealousy as well. BTW, are you from the north part of the island or down Hobart way? I lived for 3 years in Launceston as a kid, went back recently on holiday and absolutely love it. From Ulverstone originally, Tasmanians don't have chips on our shoulders, we know we have the most beautiful State in Australia. It is a beautiful state, it's just a shame about the people. Notsureifserious.gif? Anyway, i look forward to once again being up at all hours of the morning every Saturday and Sunday. I believe Shayno confessed to being South Australian. Now they genuinely do have massive chips on their shoulders.

I've been all over the shop lately, but bayside atm, out at Alex Hills. From Melbourne originally though. i'm around the carindale area. Do you watch any games in town at the pig? I haven't, but would be keen to- unless there's anywhere out this way that shows matches?

  17. Where has anyone said the Judas cunt can leave on a free? I knew he was out of favour but his still starting for Croatia and you can only assume worth a fee maybe to a Russian or Croatian team. Wouldn't want the bastard anywhere near NUFC.
  18. Hope not, don't like the orange at all. Black is class, though.
  19. Shepherd says 500k per game, Lambias says 1.3mil per goal. Both say 40million total, both are fairly close to the mark.
  20. clearly it's tongue-in-cheek. I think you mean.....
