Would a good proportion of the fans that go to watch, say, Brentford have no other affiliation, and be happy to watch their team playing league one or league two football forever? Even more so teams like Carlisle, where there's no obvious local 'big club' alternative?

I just really struggle to believe that they as a group can be anything but parodies, and "Wireside" is just that taken to an extreme.

What can I say? Yeah. Spent a day driving along Hadrian's wall, ended up at Carlisle Castle... you have no idea what it's like traipsing around the north of England when you grew up in a city where the oldest buildings are about 120 years old. Admittedly I didn't spend any length of time there but it was sweet to visit. Countryside was magic as well.
