Or a last ditch at Bent

He would be closer to Mecca. On the contrary; gambling is strictly prohibited there. LOL

Why isn't Fellaini on a strike like our vice-captain Mr. Cabaye? Sure everybody would understand that he would like to play for a club fighting for a title and is playing CL football. Those Belgians never understood proper behavior....

It's illegal to to that How so? Lyon can sell Gomis for the price of their choosing can't they? There is a lawsuite in Norway about a similar case, about the sale of Veigar Pall Gunnarsson: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veigar_P%C3%A1ll_Gunnarsson_transfer_2011

Not sure it will do him good joining a bottom team in L1. Don't think a relegation fight is good environment to nurture a talent. St. Mirren would have been a better option for him. He played 45 mins yesterday in a 0-4 loss to Conventry.
-
Leeds/Portsmouth status can also be achieved through relegation

0 senior players bought 1 senior player loaned We are on a roll

As the Gomis deal is gone cold, although not completely dead, we should be going for Bent. Would give us experience, competition and goals.

Don't understand this thread....

Don't think he is coming here, his agent controls him.

What makes you think we wouldn't have done better if he hadn't been here in the first place, and a LOT sooner ? Past experience

Sounds like Lyon are trying to get more money and flushing out other bidder (OM). Don't think they will be successful and risk not offloading him this summer. We are not as desperate as we were before Remy, but we still need another striker. Ashley will play the waiting game here, and unless Lyon can flush out another bidder, Ashley will win. The same applies to Aston Villa...

just bumping this thread so it will be above the Downing thread,, would much rather have Ince!!!!

2 years ago he was a god on this forum, people were genuinely worried that someone would come with a offer of 15m and we would loose him. Now he's a liability.
-
It's a picture of him in London isn't it. Anyway, I think he doesn't want to come but he's keeping us warm as a safety option.

If you think the USA are "that bad" then where does that put Iceland if he'll choose us over you? And on the other side of the same coin, it shows that Iceland has a long way to go to compete with nations like the USA if one of their starlets feels it's better for his career to declare for the US. We are a nation of 300.000, if we ever make it to a WC or the Euros it will be like for regular size nations winning the world cup! It's understandable that we are bad. Whats your excuse??? I understand very well why he picked USA over us, its because of WC and higher profile resulting in higher income.

A nation of 300 millions need to pinch a player from a nation of 300.000. Are USA really that bad? What stinks about this is that Aron has had his whole football development in Iceland, has Icelandic parents, with the only connection to the USA being born there. He thinks of himself as an Icelander, but picked USA for WC reasons. It was his choice, U.S. didn't kidnap him. Plenty of players with less claim to "being American" have pulled on the jersey in recent years, we'll accept any player that wants to play for us. A good player is a good player, regardless of where he's from. I'd snap your hand off for Sigurdsson too. It's not like Klinsmann didn't beg! Just goes to show that football (soccer) development has a long way to go in USA if Iceland is producing players for them Don't really blame his decision though, or USA's, Iceland has pinched players from eastern Europe in other sports. Still kind of sucks to loose a good player. Having played through the youth ranks for Iceland, the rules really shouldn't allow players to transfer between national teams.
