  1. I expected something about them backing up our statement about being against racism after the abuse on Willock and Bruno, but instead going into the mud-fight with Arteta.
  2. Should have gotten Maddison instead of Barnes. Gordon was a stupid buy and wont amount to anything. We missed the boat with Tielemans. We overpaid massivly for Isak. Tonali is just another Italian how will crumble with the pace of the Premier league, he doesn't even want to be here.
  3. 1. City 60 2. Arsenal 53 3. ManU 52 4. Liverpool 51 5. Villa 49 6. Newcastle 47 7. Brighton 44 8. Brentford 44 9. Spurs 34
  4. Villa had a good spell from when Emery took over in November. From that day Villa were the 5th best team in the league acquiring 49 points vs 47 acquired by Newcastle (in 6th). They have also recruited very well in this window with Diaby, Pau Torres and Tielemans. I think people are just recognizing that they have a proper setup now and will push for top 6. Still think we will finish above them.
  5. Villa have been pouring money into the club for many years. We are still catching up and they seem to finally being run properly so they will be a challenging the top6 along with us.
  6. Doesn't he have a terrible injury record? For my part stability of the defense is more important so injury prone defenders are not my favorite
  7. You are all just speaking polluted Icelandic
  8. We managed it once under Pardew in the Ashley era, before that once under Roeder. We did it regularly under Sir Bobby! I sincerely hope that those days are returning but for next season any top half finish would be a good progress. Not expecting us to keep the same form when we start the next season, but still an improvement on next. It's the first time in many years I look forward to the summer window!!
  9. Brilliant article you've written @WillDanceForChocolate , Thanks for that!
  10. It doesn't reset, it's the past 3 years, always.
  11. Probably been posted on here already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg6Q9ezQA30 For those questioning his signings I think we need to account for where he was and the strategy set by Bournemouth. It is discussed in the video above, Bournemouth not competing with the top half of the PL but rather target younger players not fulfilling their potential at a top club or a excelling player at a Championship club. They go into how especially the younger PL players would take time to get the best out of them. Not sure Howe would go for the same strategy for Newcastle in terms of player recruitment.

    Joelinton

He is a good player, he just isn't a striker. If we had bought him for 15m and not playing him as a striker, we wouldn't have a problem with him. The problem is that he is being played as a striker. Haven't seen canny shot from him or a killer instinct.
  13. Everton vs Villa sure is boring
  14. Agree, like him more than Gerlish. Was the best player on the pitch against us imo, and has been the reason Villa are still hanging on.

    NUFC finances

Swiss ramble with his analysis of our accounts: Summary: Even though income fell by 2m and expences rose by 2.5m Newcastle still returned a very healthy ebitda (56m) and profit (41m). Player amortisation relatively low for a mid-table club and our wage bill is 14th highest in the PL (was 5th highest before Ashley bought the club). This reflects Ashleys strategy and ambition. Also, Ashley is still skimming us with stadium advertising.
  16. The Man City ownership is the same way. 78% Abu Dhabi group 12% China Media Capital 10% Silver Lake (American investment group)
  17. I'm definitively not welcome in any cliques after starting this argument.
  18. Great, now the human rights activists can quit facebook, not watch Disney movies and never drink starbucks (along with not using Uber).
  19. Does it matter if you are a new member or not? Haven't noticed any attitude towards new members, albeit that might change if the forum will get flooded with new members if the club becomes successful. But that is to be expected, change will always rattle people (me included).
  20. Aren't Man City owned my a sovereign wealth fund in part. I'm sure I read somewhere that their resources were similar to PIF (300bn odd) are just just showing Mansours wealth for dramatic effect there? Man City is 78% owned by Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG). It looks like it is a investment fund specifically for Man City and is owned by Sheik Mansour, not by Abu Dhabi. It was news to me that the ownership of Man city is similarly constructed as PCP is planning for Newcastle. 78% by Abu Dhabi group, 12% China Media Capital group and 10% Silver Lake (American group). I've seen a lot of comments (many on other clubs forums) about how the construction of ownership of Newcastle being questioned as opposed to ManCity being owned 100% by Sheik Mansour, like it is a hint that PIF don't mean business with Newcastle.
