    Sunderland...

I've heard he is a bit of a party boy who doesn't hate to drink.
  2. Liverpool have spent 55 million on two young and English. You are competing with ManCity on how to throw money around.
  3. For me it similar mistake as selling Speed.
  4. Exactly, you beat me to it, 8 figure bid is at the minimum £10.000.000

    Gervinho

Wouldn't it be an agent who discusses the terms with NUFC?
  6. Tomi is playing in the Icelandic second tier now. He has scored 2 in 2 so far.
  7. Iceland u21's are on fire at the moment and will be playing with the English at the Euro Championships at the summer. Yes, I know I was just using this once in a life time opportunity to brag The Icelandic team was under-strength, missing 7 key players, but the English team was also under-strength. BTW, I wasn't that impressed with Wickham, the price tag of 15m is silly if judging by that game
  8. The England U21 is getting beat by a U21 team of a nation of 300.000 habitants. That is less than habitants in the area of Newcastle.
  9. Totally different type a player, but a real prospect. But maybe not ready for the PL.
  10. Nothing about it here in the Icelandic media.

    Joey Barton

New deal to be offered to Barton, good news imo

    Sebastian Larsson

I guess it is early, I've confused some people with my post. My reference to Liverpool was a bit confusing. It simply meant that Liverpool fans will not be happy signing Larson. They expect more. I wasn't comparing us to Liverpool. Our club is at a totally different stage. We have just got promoted and are trying to hang on to our PL status. Liverpool are in a decline and are trying to get up to top 4 again (which wont be easy with the arrival of Man City). But this is totally of topic. In the future I'll try not to post so early in the morning or just use short sentences

    Sebastian Larsson

For the fee mentioned and the not so high wages being rumored he would be a decent signing. But the fact is I would rather play Barton on the right. I admit I haven't seen to much of Larson. What I've seen from him and heard: - he's a decent right midfielder who can cross the ball - he wont beat a man with his pace - he is a consistent player - he can fill in at right back Perhaps he can be described as "Ryan Taylor v.1.1". For a midtable club he would be a good signing, but I don't see the fans of Liverpool being happy to start the quest back to top 4 with Seb Larson. It would be like when Roy signed Paul Konchesky.
  14. Insurance has got nothing to do with it. LAG are agreeing to a 2 month loan, Spurs want it for the season, you can't have Beckham occupying one of the 25 man squad only to leave after about 6 weeks. Same with the CL squad. AEG, Spurs' Olympic Stadium partners and investors in LAG, are trying to sort out a compromise. Will Bentley stay put if the Beckham deal doesn't go ahead? Doesn't seem likely. Seems like his loan to Brum is back on again as they have offered him an improved deal. Before that Bentley was all set to go to Newcastle, loan fee and wages all agreed. Whether Newcastle improve their offer I've no idea, Brum are definitely in pole position right now. You speak like you are directly involved in these dealings......

    Joey Barton

Why would we sack Chris and replace him with a manager with a worse record. With this club (regime) you never know.

    3 to go down

West Brom have got 7 points from their last 10 games ( I think). Thats relegation form.
  17. Pardew confirmed that Carroll will be out against West Ham and the fa cup match. Unknown after that...

    Shola Ameobi

Think it's clear that he is playing with an injury, which he shouldn't be doing. Some can pull it of, he never has.

    Alan Pardew

The Journal seems to think that Pardew is in Germany whilst Newcastle have been interviewing their leading candidate: http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2010/12/08/united-already-in-talks-61634-27786457/
  20. Well, I did find it http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.goal.com%2Fnl%2Fnews%2F213%2Feredivisie%2F2010%2F12%2F07%2F2250467%2Fraiola-jol-gaat-voorlopig-nergens-aan-de-slag
  21. I actually haven't seen this on any of the ducth media websites (through news.google.nl). That article that was posted was not about his agent commenting. And I don't know Twitter, but isn't that somebody posting to Caulkin about this, not Caulkin posting himself?
  22. Carroll could also end up as Andy Johnson. There are some similarities ( but bear in mind that Carroll hasn't finished the season and could well only score a handful the second part of the season). Andy was at a similar age when he had fantastic season with Palace in the Championship, scoring 32 in all competition. His first year in the PL he was only a year older than Carroll is now. He finished that season with 21 goals, although 8 of those were penalties ( a record in the PL). He hasn't been able to produce such a season since then, only making double digits once with Everton (11 goals).
