I have no qualms. He's so good they named a country after him.

absolute fucking disgrace.

Guthrie isn't good enough and I'd flog him in the summer based on someone else coming in. However loaning him out now is a surprise.

gonna show my love of the league cup later and have a pint of Milk, followed by coca-cola, Worthingtons and Carling. Shame Rumbelows and Littlewoods don't make drinks. -

absolutely awful. RIP.

he was a guest. Refreshing change from their usual in-house dross.

Overview, there wasn't much to it... Pardew doing a great job. That was his honest assessment on the Carroll move from a friends point of view. Wishes Carroll well as long as its not against NUFC. When he came up he knew he wanted to be a piece of success here. Passionate fans etc, seeing the stadium on the hill, thinks its unreal. Rafa Benitez thinks we'll miss Carroll (who he says is a good signing for Liverpool) but thinks we will replace him.

on now.

theres going to be an interview with him on football focus shortly

They do in a way, if anyone approaches us now, they have to pay top dollar. It may ward other teams off except for the very rich. Also the new rules come into play. This is a good move by the club. I dont see how it can been seen any other way. what was his original deal? He was only half a year into the one he got when signed, not like it was running out. And I'm not saying its not good for the club, its just I'm hesitant to believe that this means he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I'm not saying he wont go anywhere, he could well do. But securing an asset that has 2 years left on it to 6 1/2 is brilliant, especially if you know other clubs will be sniffing. Come on man, is common sense. Didn't know his original deal was as short as that.

contracts mean fuck all in football nowadays. Would love him to see out the full six and a half years but at the same time wouldn't be surprised one bit if he's sold in the summer if a £10-15m bid comes in.

i watched the liverpool away game first season back up in the city hall. I saw the 2-2 away to the mackems (blew the 2-0 lead, Domi & Helder) in the (then Telewest) Arena.

did anyone go to the beambacks at the old Odeon on Pilgrim Street? I seem to remember watching 1-1 home draws vs the mackems and Arsenal there, Shearers first season. 2 folks from Metro Radio did a little thing beforehand handing out prizes to kids. I think I got a ruler ( mint prize, I know) and a few copies of the old 'Black and White' magazine...

the goals from that are on YouTube! Obviously I can't post it, so I'll let you look, but I found them the other day with many other random highlights such as a 4-1 home win vs Coventry in 1998 and the Tranmere 3-2 away win in the FA Cup, 2000.

Scored one like that away at Sheff Wed, aye, IIRC.

QPR at home in the 95-96 season. We won 2-1 from being 1-0 down. I remember Beardsley scored them both. After some extensive Googling I've just found out QPR's goalscorer was none other than Ian Holloway

Will more than likely be passing through NYC in August/September so will go to Legends if we're on rather than Nevada Smiths if thats now the place to go I was in Chicago last September looking for somewhere to watch Switzerland-England however the one place folk could suggest was showing a re-run of the Bulgaria game from a few days before. Does anyone know of anywhere in New Orleans that might show games? Will probably be there in the early weeks of next season...
