Hehe aye. I think Alan Smith is a good player when he's in attack, I think we have better players than him to fit into midfield though.
-
Sorry, I thought they were on about Ameobi... I had best go to bed.
-
He (Ameobi) is not really a decent player though to be fair. We've had him long enough and he hasn't really done anything worth mentioning. If he's happy to sit and wait for a game without bitching or moaning, like he has been happy to do for years, it's worth keeping him as a backup.

2 - 1 to us and I'm predicting another amazing performance from the fans.
-
That was how to support! Let's make it even better on Saturday.
-
The board, manager and the players all seem fine. The only unrest there is - is dodgy news stories saying Sam's getting sacked and us getting reeled in by it.

I just can't see Capello operating very well with the amount of money we will be able to give him. Where as Sam will be able to do a better job with that. Comparing someone that has spent a lot of money on players in amazing teams to a guy that has spent next to nothing with a crappy team is insane mate. And I still think we would have kept improving with SBR. His record at every club he's been at indicates this, even if we had a dip in form 1 season (the season he got sacked), I reckon he would have replaced the bad players and sorted it all out again. But I guess we will never know. However I would much rather have stuck with SBR than have Souness and Roeder replace him. As for Beckhams career, Capello did nothing to help that out, other than playing him.

because he's won so much in his football career So had Dalglish, and Gullit (as both players and managers) and Sir Bobby (as manager) - just shows, winning things elsewhere means nowt when they get here!! To be fair - we would have won something if we had of stuck with Sir B.Robinson. ;(
-
Also because we have just hired him, Sam can probably spend money better than him too, Sam is better suited to our club as he makes crap/old players better (over time, not 14 games, so shh).

I'll stick with Sam, thanks.

If Allardyce gets sacked I'll probably stop watching football. I can't be bothered to try support some other club, I just wouldn't find it interesting - and if Allardyce gets sacked, it will be the final straw for supporting this one. We're only 14 games in, with new a new board (that have no exp in running a football club, but seem to be doing a fantastic job), A new manager, new staff and new players, and there's already talk of Big Sam getting sacked! I feel like an old man when I read this forum, I'm tired of the knee jerk reactions and stupid, random threads. Fortunately, every now and then, someone will make a refreshing post like this one (CoachHTT's post in particular), and I feel a little more positive. By the way, I really hope Allardyce doesn't get sacked, I like watching football, most of the time anyway.

I have had a Mackem work mate in my last 3 jobs, and he's been fine - until we talked about football.
-
I see that written here all the time, what is "old firm" ?
-
Good job to everyone that went; hopefully we can do the same at home too.

The booing perspective - Joey Barton has his say on us...

I think he's right - we should be getting behind the team. This article came as a bit of a shock to me as I didn't realize that we have become crappy fans. -
Yeah he'll be great.
-
The Times is a pretty crappy newspaper when it comes to NUFC news
-
Yeah, nice one The Janitor!
-
I don't want to know anything about a turned on big Sam to be honest.
-
I can't really be bothered to read through those massive replies, all I'm saying is - give the fella a break, he's got a contract and we should honor it.
-
Reasons to keep him: - He's got a good record. - As Mort said, success comes through stability, sacking managers all the time isn't going to get us anywhere. - We're what; 13 games into the season and we're already trying to lynch him. He hasn't had time to do anything yet. - The players respect him, he can attract good players (Anelka etc). Also, the players he's had in the past all love him. - He spent very little in the transfer window and we have had our best start in 11 year (I know this is deceptive, but there it is). - He's got his head screwed on when it comes to back room staff. - The players he bought during the last transfer window were 'cover' types of players, he get rid of the rubbish and got some hard workers in in there place, Dyer for Smith etc. - He uses tactics (even though they don't work at the moment) - unlike our past two managers. - He appears to be ignoring 90% of our fans - which to me is a good thing. There are probably more, but it's late and I'm tired. Reasons to sack him: - He keeps playing players out of position (if this is a good enough reason?). - We're losing games (even though we're only 13 games in, I can see how some people will drop their arse over this). I can't think of anything else at the moment, it's late and I'm tired. Stop letting your emotions take control of you when you post. Read what you type out loud, and before you press "post", try and see the opposite side of your statement. And last but not least, stop reading crappy newspapers, they make so much money from crappy stories such as "Sam has lost the dressing room" - it's all bloody stupid. nn m8/people
