I'm glad we lost, if we drew or won with him... we probably would have hired him!
-
They're only having a bubble mate. (sorry )

Redknapp wouldn't have been on my list. I'm not saying he's really bad, I just don't think he's a step forward. I can already see us being unhappy with him for the next two year until he's sacked, then we will start all over again. If we're going to hire a new manager, you might as well go all out and splash the cash on someone you would be willing to stick with for the period of his contract. You can say "oh well we couldn't attract this guy or this guy" but I don't care, I'm not happy with second best and I never will be, I'll make no apology for wanting someone better either. Actually, now that I'm a bit more relaxed and this terrible news is sinking in, I think I'll just wait to see what happens. I think I better stay away from this forum and newsnow too, It's driving me crazy!

Except, lets say, Sven, Ramos etc

I'm simply too fed up with the same old bullshit. If he comes I will neither boo him or support him, I simply won't be there anymore.

I don't understand how people can settle for Redknapp either. Even if he is better than Sam, it's not by much, they have both achieved the same thing. There are better choices out there, we have a billionaire owner, 50k+ attendances, passionate supporters (even if we do display the passion in a negative way at times), money to spend, players that are good on paper(!), good training facilities, a big back room team thanks to Sam -- I don't see any reason why we can't attract someone better. Fair enough getting manager here seems to ruin managers careers, maybe we should put it in their contract that they can't be sacked for at least 5 year, unless we get releagted.

"Angry that Redknapp is the some-total of our worldwide managerial search." I have to agree with you there, it's extremely worrying. The problem is, As with Souness and Roeder, you can see that if we get Redknapp, we will have a year of crappy football and poor results, then the fans will turn on him, then he will get sacked. It's too predictable. Still, lets not get carried away with all of this paper talk. If Ashley is listening to the supporters, he will know we want someone with style, charisma, tactical knowledge, someone the players will look up to and really try to work for - Mourinho (like that would ever happen ).

I don't agree, most foreign managers have to hit the ground running, look at Ramos for example. I really don't want Redknapp, I just don't think he's an improvement over Sam, as someone said in another post, it would be a side step, not a step forward.

You're a very angry man

I have just been saying the same thing on nufcblog.

Aye, but my point was, it was too early.

I don't believe he should have been judged on 6 months work, after a complete club overhaul. The level of players he brought in for the money he was given was fantastic. Viduka was great at the time, we were all pleased about getting Geremi, Faye and Beye have been great, Enrique is being eased into the squad.... fair enough on Barton and Smith, bad choices ... saying that, I was pleased Barton was here at the time, I remember him being pretty good at City, shame he can't control himself. Ultimately the results and performances drove him out, I just think it's a shame he was put under such extreme pressure so quickly, even the likes of Fergie and Sven were coming out and saying he should be backed and not sacked. The only way I will be able to accept this decision is if they already have a better manager to replace him; I don't consider Rednapp, Mclaren, Shearer, Jol, Hughes, Strachen or pretty much any other British manager to be better than him (My opinion of Allardyce is the same now as it was when he left Bolton, which is, he done wonders with a club with no money, he was strongly considered for the England job, the past 6 month haven't changed my opinion of him). God this post is getting too long (not HTT length though!) and I still feel I haven't clearly expressed my feelings on this; basically, I just think we are stupid and we will never win anything if one of the previously mentioned managers is appointed. *edit* Just noticed I have to change my signature.

I love the way people include Enrique in their back four, even though they haven't seen many games with him in. I have been a Newcastle supporter for as long as I can remember, and I can honestly say that if they hire Rednapp, I'm going to have to stop watching football. There's no way I can put up with it anymore. I was fully against Souness, then even more against Reoder and I was happy to see big Sam here, getting Rednapp just isn't an improvement. God these constant rumors are doing my head in, I really hope there's no truth in them.

There are worse teams out there in worse positions, but there are better teams out there in better positions too, why should I settle for less?
-
I'd spray whipped cream on my nippes and have a wank in the press conference if we got Mourinho.

This "Ashley is a business man" quote is annoying, every single owner in any football club is; Fat Freddy is! It's true, he is a business man, but if you look at what he has done in the past with sports direct etc, it's not too hard to imagine him sacking Sam without having a backup.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v59/ryhoper1/samdiveom9.gif I thought that pic was funny. I feel really let down about this decision.
-
I can't think of anything positive to say about this match at all.
-
-
Yeah but to be fair to the Allardyce haters, Allardyce pretty much bought that midfield, and it's him that's not giving Emre a full 90 minutes.
-
I used to be spotty when I was younger, and when I went to the doctor for pills the doctor said "Because this your first time on these pills, your skin will probably get worse before it gets better, until your body has time to get used to them". I think the same thing is happening here I honestly believe we have to stick with him.
-
Oh, so Sam is trying to get himself sacked, so he can have 3 year off?
-
Martins has been here longer than Smith or Allardyce though, so he gets preferential treatment
