Out of curiosity - what are Milners stats like compared to other premiership clubs right wingers? If he was 7th in the premiership with Aston Villa, I'd assume he'd be better than that with us... Though he was playing under Roeder, I think Allardyce will make him a lot better.

If Allardyce can get a club like Bolton into the top 6; he should be able to do way better than that with us. At the moment it sounds as if he's making excuses already. He shouldn't have got rid of our other defenders until he had suitable replacements; we're desperate now and I think other clubs will know this and try to rob us. I still have faith in him and I think our new board know what they're doing. We'll have to see what has happened by the start of the season before we start flapping.

I think Allardyce will continue to be cautious, Ashley will give us a budget (250 million over 5 seasons?) that he may go over if/when the time is right. I think by the end of next season we will be top 8. It worries me that we're talking about offering players like Barton 70k pw or Ben Haim 60k pw. :S

Jenas and Parker wanted to leave, maybe martins too? Boumsong, Ramage, Viana, Emre and Shola were, or have been crappy for us. This is just my opinion but you can't keep a player on because you think his potential is higher than he's performing, or that he's not performing now as well as he used to in a total different league, like Boumsong for example - Yeah he played a lot better in the past, but he had a full season to get back into shape - How long would you play a defender that isn't defending properly before you run out of patience with him? You're right, we are too quick to write a player off at times but at the same time, if a player plays well, he gets praised... If he doesn't play well, he gets the stick that comes with it. I don't know why we got rid of Speed though, I always liked him.

We're not really billionaires, he's only giving us 45million to spend this window, right?
