  1. Sam will stay and I am glad about that.
  2. Milner and N'Zogbia if they're both trained and motivated properly.
  3. I don't really care. Hopefully Martins will get a proper game now.

    Is Sam the Man?

Yeah, keep him here for the duration of his contract at least. He's only just got here and already people are writing him off; can't they see how much good sacking our managers willy-nilly has done in the past? Sometimes reading this forum makes me even more depressed than watching matches like Reading / Mackems. Oh and I would be worried if he did spend a sizable chunk of Ashley's money - I prefer the wheeling and dealing he done during the last transfer window, good players, low prices. Maybe we can occasionally splash out on someone nice that will improve our team.
  5. I liked this article. I wonder what their opinion is on Sam playing Milner and N'Zogbia out of position.
  6. The original poster is obviously an idiot. Who makes generalizations like that these days? ¬_¬
  7. Yes, both - if payed in their correct positions.
  8. It's always refreshing when we hear from Mort, I'm glad he's got his head screwed on.
  9. Jesus, some people; don't you get bored of calling for a managers head after a few games? We're a massive improvement on what we were last year, and this is after spending very little in the transfer window. Yes, the match today was embarrassing, but give the bloke a chance, he's got players with skill that can't YET communicate properly with each other, but they will improve. Though people are right when they say his tactics stink at the moment, I have no idea why he's played Milner and Zoggy on the wrong sides, I think he is just feeling his way around our players strengths and weaknesses. I just hope he gets the support from us that he will need - at least until the end of the season.
  10. This thread is borderline gay. :giggle:
  11. I'm still 50/50 on him, the money would be nice, but you can't better a team by selling it's 'true' world class striker.
  12. I hope he stays in January like. I'd prefer to have him here injured than have him fully fit, playing against us. I do think Owen is a great player, I have said 'I hope he doesn't keep Martins out of the team for too long' in the past, but that doesn't mean I want him to go elsewhere. This news about him every day is getting really tiring, and it's looking increasingly likely that he will go. I think I'm just going to ignore any news/forum post with the name "Owen" in the title, and just wait to see what happens.
  13. Bowyer seemed like a pretty a model professional while he was here - until he smacked Dyer infront of everyone. Thing about Joey is he's driven, you could hear it in his voice in the controversial interview he gave with Man City ages ago. If someone else isn't putting as much effort into the team as he is, he gets angry . At least that's what I have read anyway.
  14. If Arsenal had wanted Martins, they would have bought him - they didn't. I don't care one bit if Owen DOES keep Martins out of the team ; it would mean he was fit, and a fit Owen is 3 times the player that Martins is, or will ever be ; he's 22(or is it 23 or even 28.!)and if he hasn't got decent first touch now, he never will have. I would be interested to hear your decision if asked to select from EITHER a fit Owen or Martins to play in our last 3 games if we needed , say, 7 points to avoid relegation OR qualify for Europe..... Martins didn't go to Arsenal? Maybe that is because of the value we put on him, there could be a number of reasons for it, maybe it's not just a matter of "he's not good enough". Please don't talk about how Owen is 3 times the player Martins ever will be, no one on this board has a crystal ball; apart from me - I only stated what I thought though, you're conveying opinion as facts; that thing about the first touch, I think that is silly - give the lad a string of starts in the team and his confidence will be back in no time (Yes, I do believe confidence is a very important factor). You're right though, at the moment I would definitely prefer a fully fit Owen over Martins, simple becuse Owen has more experience and can operate better under pressure, things which can be fixed for Martins too, in time. Idealy I'd like to see both strikers playing, be it together on the pitch or rotated every now and then. Anyway mate, I'm not anti-Owen or anything, I am genuinely glad he is here, and I hope he can stay injury free and play for us regularly. All I mean is that I think Martins isn't showing his true form at the moment and it would be a shame to lose him.
  15. FFS why do people always bring players wages into it? What just because Owen is earning a lot of money that means he can never be pissed off? His money has nothing to do with it. I like Martins but some people are prasing him a little to much, IMHO Owen would be a lot better for Arsenal because every part of his game expect pace and power is better than Martins. Martins can miss and open net and people say "its not his fault, He's lacking confidence" but if Owen misses the open goal people would say "f****** w******, If he was playing for England etc etc". Its f****** silly I bring his wages into it because it's a perfectly valid point. I didn't say he couldn't be pissed off, I just said we pay him enough to be able to cope with the criticism. I'm willing to bet that Wenger would take Martins over Owen (if each were free), simply because Martins is young and gifted; Owen has a history injurys. Yes, if Owen misses he will get the same criticism as we have been giving Martins for missing. How is anything I have said silly?
  16. He can be as pissed off as he wants for £100k a week, we give our honest opinions on him when we feel like it, it's our prerogative as supporters. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy and I hope he stays fit from now, I'm glad he's here - except I hope he doesn't keep Martins out of the team, a fit and confident Martins will be better for us in the long run! (Imagine how good Martins would be for Arsenal, we're wasting him imo). Anyway I voted 6-8 weeks, but I think it should go by the number of games, I think he will be injured again within 5 games.
  17. I only listened to it on the radio, but they said he had a decent enough game. He may well have made a few mistakes, but please give the guy a chance, he's only started 2 or 3 games for us.
  18. No idea how having Owen, Martins, Viduka and Alan smith as attacking options is 'worrying'. The only thing I find worrying is that we're still playing Shola Ameobi up there.
  19. I think it was tried for one half of a match and it worked great.

    Sack Big Sam

I think Big Sam sees something in him that most of us don't.
