  1. Remember how Guthrie was nearly publically hanged because of the Fagin tackle? And the "Oh he hasn't phoned me to apologise" whines from Fagin, "eugh he texted me but he hasn't talked to me" whine that went on for three weeks. And Guthrie murdered in every paper. And today's papers and the telly today? Not a fucking word about Cattermole's challenge. Football's dyin on its feet - what with Rooney and Ronaldo getting away with elbows, sly kicks every week, Poll saying the top 4 get preferential treatment, referees making questionable decisions that if any other profession you'd think there was something very fishy going on (and I'm not convinced there isn't - allegedly). It's dying I'm telling you.
  2. He just looked like a twat and they just looked embarassed, like teenage kids look embarassed when their parents make a public faux pas.

    Referees

Having watched the Rooney incident (what's the betting it won't be shown on MOTD) and the just as bad Ronaldo incident (second time he's got away with it in two weeks), then watching our game and seeing the absolute shambles of the ref's performance, there have to be serious questions about these shocking biases we see week in week out. If the penalty Wigan got today had been awarded against Man U (no chance of that like) Sky would have spent an hour discussing the whys and wherefores and Ferguson would have sued the FA, as it is it will be brushed over, Cattermole's tackle will be ignored and all will be forgotten. But not by us.

    Lee Cattermole

I dug out this article from when he did Barton, I was disgusted at the way it was written back when it happened, another Taylor from the Guardian who's obviously shaggin him. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/nov/22/wigan-athletic

    Owen and Viduka

Hopefully Owen is injured, I've heard whisperings that suggest he may be (and also why Edgar replaced him). Carroll and Xisco upfront with Nile Ranger on the bench, then. as s**** as Owen can be (and is, half of the time) it's daft to hope he's injured Being cynical I said before the game he'd be injured by the end of it, just in time for the Liverpool game. I was half joking but now I wonder. At least Oba will make every effort to play on Sunday now. It's Beye I worry about though..... :'(

    Owen's replacement

"martins scores nowhere near the same ratio of goals" Aye but Martin hasn't been out injured for two years. People keep going on about Owen's scoring ratio but playing the number of games he has in the time he's been here is just freaky.

    Owen's replacement

As if he would come here you mean?
  8. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's never been "loved" the way that Shearer, Martins, Fowler etc are. I don't think it will bother him either. Not that I can put a finger on it, I doubt anyone can, but it's a certain aloofness or just as someone said, that deep down his real love isn't football and he's just banking the money to spend on his horses.
  9. More likely he's waiting to see what wages he can get out of a club in the North West, but who? Not Everton because their ceiling is something like 50k a week, Liverpool aren't interested, Man U not interested, Wigan can't afford his wages, surely to God he wouldn't go to Bolton or Blackburn, Man City seem to be his only option, but if and when Hughes is sacked they'll bring in a foreign manager and they aren't interested in his type of player either. So he might stay? Honestly I can't see anyone else wanting him, Spurs maybe? Villa?
  10. Have you actually read the countdown page or are you just making something up to fit in with what you think the crowd are saying? The countdown relates to exactly what you're talking about. It talks about the amount of time there is to turn the club around, explain to the fans and look at renewing contracts and buying players in. Its not about time to sell or anything like that, we do recognise theres a global recession which is why you'll read stuff on there asking him to talk to the fans and discuss whats needed. Not telling him to just sell up and f**k off. Thats why Ive had many a discussion now with those coming out of the woodwork the other way, slagging us off for "selling out" and "giving in". Yes I have read the page, nowhere does it mention a global recession, it's hostile, it reads like he's not selling the club out of spite. It's poorly written and insulting, and if I was Ashley I wouldn't come a mile to communicate with NUSC. I quote "SO….WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE PEOPLE ALLEGEDLY INTERESTED IN BUYING THE CLUB, MR ASHLEY? WHAT HAS PUT THEM OFF?" Maybe the fact that the world's financial markets are in freefall?
  11. The thing I don't see from NUSC is a realisation that there is a world wide recession going on. I'd rather the club wasn't sold in this climate because which reputable body would buy ANYTHING in this climate? If they take that as a fact then what is the next pragmatic step? It certainly shouldn't be putting insulting poems on their website or saying "you have x amount of time to sell the club or else". Ashley's communication policy is non existent but he must think that HIS next step is to buy the players Kinnear wants and not to sell off the best players. Then if climbing up the table starts to happen and we win a couple of FA cup games the mood will change in his favour. If NUSC were to still be going on about a countdown and making daft jokes on their website they would surely lose all credibility. Ashley must realise now that selling off the players and probably getting relegated is his worst nightmare for selling the club. Maybe, just maybe he has learned a bit of a lesson.
  12. Good job it wasn't Barton stamping on somebody or kicking out petulantly, he'd be back in jail by now. They really are scared of Taggart.
  13. And people complain about Owen being injured? Apart from the fact he's a little turd scrote who isn't anything like the player he was - do you not think it strange how he's always at the top of the list when clubs need to sell? We need fresh blood - and not another striker midget.

    Oba...Obafem

I don't know why this always has to turn into an Owen v Oba debate, we should be glad we have both. However I would assume that most fans are getting used to the idea that Owen will leave and they would prefer to see him go than if Oba was sold. For one thing Oba has another 10 years playing left in him, Owen has about 4 if he's lucky.
  15. So what? Seems weird for people to complain about implications of paedophilia but not rape. Think paedophila is a reference to Islam, hence the racial implications of the taunt. Tedious and tasetless. Eh? Double eh?

    Oba...Obafem

I'd be storming off an all. Not just Kinnear, it was Keegan and Allardyce. All terrified of upsetting the mighty Owen and always subbing Oba. As for showing his passion what the f*** is wrong with that? Would you rather he laughed as he came off the field? But in some peoples eyes he'll never be "right", good job most fans love him for what he is and just see his goals and his play.
  17. Wheyse Keyse at it again - who heard this chanting? She's obviously upset about Woyston. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/nov/30/premierleague-newcastleunited
  18. I've thought for a while now Rob Lee is on a mission, to get his mate in as Manager and himself in as a Terry McDermott type sidekick. He's poppin up everywhere, pundit, on Sunday goals thing, interview in the Mag. Talking about "we" this and "we" that. It's pretty transparent that it's a Shearer/Lee package and he's whipping up support from the fans (supposedly) so that when the club's sold they'll waltz into the job. Well that's his theory.
  19. I decided not to watch in case Lawrenson was wanking himself silly and pointing out every one of Cacapa's mistakes.
  20. Brian Reade article from the Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/columnists/reade/2008/11/08/call-him-a-thug-call-him-a-yob-but-don-t-blame-joey-baryon-for-race-row-115875-20878218/ Call him a thug, call him a yob.. but don't blame Joey Barton for race row * * Brian Reade 8/11/2008 Lewis Hamilton isn't the only British sportsman seething at an inability to grasp what does and doesn't constitute racism. So is Joey Barton. For being wrongly labelled a racist after telling a black player to button his lip. But whereas Hamilton gets rightful sympathy for Bernie Ecclestone's outrageous belief that dressing as a Black and White Minstrel to demean a human being is quite funny, Barton gets none. Because he's Joey Barton. A despised thug, bereft of credibility. So let's all throw the boot in. Well these are the facts. On Wednesday a newspaper wrote the story: "Barton in 'big lips' race row", after the Newcastle midfielder had had a set-to with Gabby Agbonlahor of Aston Villa. Agbonlahor hadn't claimed Barton said anything racist. Neither the referee, nor any players heard anything (including Barton's black colleague Habib Beye who was stood next to him), and when the FA asked Villa as a "duty of care" if they wanted to submit a complaint they declined. When asked to comment, Barton said they'd had a few verbals, he'd told Agbonlahor to button his lip and at the end of the game they shook hands. So how did Barton end up in the middle of a "race row"? Why was the internet buzzing with bloggers saying they always knew he was the same strain of scum as his halfbrother who murdered a black teenager? Why the calls to throw him back in jail? Because one man had rung a newspaper to say: "You can see Barton saying something like 'big lips'. If this is true I think he should be kicked out of the game for good." That paper then contacted a lipreading expert who claimed that Agbonlahor had thrust his bottom lip at Barton who told him to "pack it in, f****** lip" then claimed Barton "appeared" to mention his big lips. On the basis of that evidence the paper did a leader on what a disgrace Barton was, claiming he was "involved in a foul-mouthed, racist outburst". They also had Page Three Stunnah, Amii, 22, saying: "I think it's disgusting if he did make racist remarks to another player. If true, Newcastle should think twice about letting him play." I know what you're thinking. It's only Joey Barton. It's fair game to kick him when he's down, because he's turned kicking other people when they're down into an art form. So what if he wasn't being racist. The man's a thug. Who cares? Well if your blood boils when you hear monkey grunts aimed at black players you should care. Because looking for racism on a football pitch where none appears to exist damages the struggle against that evil and demeans those who fight it. As for bringing in lip-readers to back up your agenda, how discredited is that? This week the Daily Mail has had to pay substantial damages to Marco Materazzi for claiming, with the help of a lip-reader, that he yelled at Zinedine Zidane: "You're the son of a terrorist whore." When he was actually telling Zidane that his sister was on the game. Not nice. But not racist either. Yet Materazzi was hung out to dry. Just like Barton. Whatever you think about him, inventing a race row simply because he is so despised and thus an easy target, is shocking and wrong. In fact I'm not sure what's more racist. Pointing at your lips when looking at a black man or claiming that pointing at your lips while looking at a black man is a racist act. Especially when you're alleging it because you're running a witchhunt. But I know what is the more dishonest and dangerous.
  21. Surely no-one's comparing Colo with Anton Ferdinand? :colo:
  22. that on Sultana or something? No need for it to be on early otherwise. I don't think so, No idea why it's on this early. They said on Talkshite that the police had wanted it to be an early kick off, trouble at the last one or something.
