  1. Henri Saivet was amazing on FM a tricky winger / striker but for some reason played CM/DM for us. Out of him, Alan Smith and Joelinton, Joes the only crap striker turned great midfielder. The others have been terrible
  2. Alan Smith and Amdy Faye were proper nothing players, added no value at all, was like playing with a man down. Lots in that category, Colback, even Anita was pretty useless.
  3. In hindsight the best sale we’ve ever done, right at the peak of his value. 35m in 2011 is the equivalent of a 80-90m sale today, perhaps even more. It was a British transfer record at the time so perhaps it’s more like 100m. The best thing Dalglish ever did for us, including his two year managerial reign
  4. Seeing Clark and Carroll threads bumped makes me think we’re signing back up home grown players for CL would be progress at this rate
  5. Could have been the Joan Garcia derby had it panned out differently
  6. I can see us getting Xavi Simons
  7. Would Raphinia be realistic? Yes he’s old but would improve our RW immediately plus they have Yamal one wing and Nico Williams on the other
  8. There's no fun in football anymore. Anyone half decent the top clubs just hoover them up. Especially for players that are free / or undervalued. They don't need him at all - they have Raphina, Yamal, Ferran Torres and Olmo that can playe there, and tons of La Masia prospects probably Give the rest of the teams a chance man.
  9. In 1995/96 we signed four top players, Hislop, Ferdinand, Ginola and Barton. All first team. Then we also signed Batty and Asprilla. Thats six first team players all either one of the best in the country or one of the best in the world for their positions. That’s the level of signings we need for this summer to challenge for the title. I don’t mind if a purple like Gordon has to go (it’ll be like our Cole departure).
  10. Talking of ITK's whatever happened to Ando7? He used to get a few right back in the day?
  11. The only way I would be okay with this is if we got both Osimhen AND David in as his replacements and sold for over 140m. We’d be net better off, for 70m. Two top prolific strikers and half the money left over for the rest of the team. It’s highly unlikely of course.

    Fixtures 25/26

Ooof Villa away is tough start
  13. I prefer the adidas green one than the last castor one. Green white looks better than green black
  14. Is that Vitor roque who we were linked with when he was at Barca i had wondered what happened to him
  15. The more I think about it, the two Delap and Mbuemo really were perfect for us, at the price points mentioned. Mbuemo possibly too expensive wages wise but Delap at 30m was an amazing deal. any other relegated release clauses?

    João Pedro

We keep saying Joao Pedro for CF but he’s not an out and out striker. Back up is ok but if Isak is out we may become toothless upfront again why has buying enough players to fit your basic objectives become so damn difficult
  17. I have a feeling we're going to sign an 80M player this window. Don't ask me why. Just a feeling.
  18. And a player from 11 years ago is still our captain
  19. If we get an Elanga or Semenyo, I’d also want a young prospect like Roony Bardjhi so we have options. Elanga and Semenyo are speedy direct options. We do need more guile and flair up top. A door opener like Souness used to say.
  20. Brighton are annoying. Literally any wonderkid and they’re all over him. used to be my go-to strategy on FM tbf but it’s annoying in real life leave some for the rest of us
  21. With Sancho I do think there’s a player there. He’s a confidence player but the two clubs he’s played at are absolutely toxic, Man U say no more but when Chelsea with their million players can’t be the best when you’re trying to find your way back to full form and fitness. That spell he had on loan at Dortmund where he played CL final he was starting to show flashes of the old Sancho towards the end. I do think if anyone could fix him so to speak it would be Howe.
  22. I’d actually rather get Maignan for 17m or whatever it is. buy potential later when we have spare cash. maignan is actually a purple and would be as big an upgrade as pope was for dubravka
  23. It was either Trafford Garcia or Chevalier if we want to lock off the position for 5 years minimum. Right age and experience. Garcia has gone and in a way perhaps he would have gone to one of the big teams eventually so good it’s happened now. But Trafford in theory lived in the North, was in Man City, Burnley, Bolton plus knows many of the u-21 guys like Tino Hall and Gordon so can see him being an excellent fit. Get him now even at 30m and you won’t have to worry about it again. It’s a Hall Tino type of purchase neither of which were high priorities at the time but makes a lot of sense in hindsight.
  24. Howe will sort him out, etc
