I don't see the Wissa situation as much different to Isak at all. And if Brentford want to keep him for the last year of his contract fair play to them. If our ownership were willing to use their their strategic portfolio to our advantage, they should offer players in Wissa's age category a cushty move to the Saudi pro league after 2-3 years to minimise PSR impact of older players. This could be a win-win for both Newcastle and their domestic league. PIF need to be exploring these options.

Had no real saves to make but was completely dominant from an aerial point of view. Easy to take this for granted but I've seen many a Newcastle keeper stay rooted to their line over the years.

Bruno wearing his concrete boots again.

Does it all the time. I think he is possibly trying to ride tackles so that he comes out with the ball but it rarely works.

Shola's fault -
I hope so and I know I should have more faith in EH as he has consistently proven that we overcome setbacks.

Woke up today with complete pessimism about the season ahead. Objectively, yesterday was a disaster, despite a colassol effort from the players. - Defeat - Auxillary striker suspended for three games - Injuries to two thirds of our midfield, potentially for lengthy spells - Schar out for next game with concussion

Genuinely a really good footballer Chronically underrated ability on the ball due to his stint playing out of position

Don't blame the lad for the goal as Liverpool are always likely to have an extra man at the far post given the situation but his first involvement earlier in the game was pretty honking like.

Any time the likes of Slot, Klopp, Arteta etc criticise your style of play, you can take it with certainty that you are doing the right thing. It's when these cunts start complementing you when you have to worry.

The eleven minutes is only a problem to the extent that the officials would almost certainly have added less time on if the score was 2-1. I have said it before that the refs choose the minutes to add on based on context. No specific complaints about the officials today though. Bad things just always happen in this fixture. Even when we deserve to win , we will somehow draw or lose.

Aside from some obvious head loss moments, Bruno has been ridiculously good.

Did Liverpool once score against us when we had two players down with head injuries. Think it might have been the same game where the ref blocked our defender from closing down a Trent goal. Different rules apply to this lot.

When you speak to genuine match going Liverpool fans you realise that they are worried about their forward line for the coming season. Admittedly they are not as up the shit as we are, but they are losing Nunez, Diaz, Jota, and Salah for a busy period due to AFCON. They have of course got Ekitike but they are a potential injury away from somewhat of a crisis by their standards. If we get the replacements in we should be pushing for every last penny from Liverpool.

I also did not want a statement but what they have released strikes a good balance between setting out the clubs position to avoid Isak's message being the sole narrative whilst also offering conciliation. The latter is needed given the likelihood Isak stays with us increases by the day and offering no conciliation weakens our negotiating position.

Romano properly mugging us off with the "only wants" nonsense

At a push, you could probably wheel out a Botman clanger compilation, although much of that will be him playing through injury or returning from injury.

Watkins always plays a blinder against our slow centre backs. Such a good player. PSR as it is pretty much rules out any non-Saudi team from buying Watkins because he will always be worth more to Villa than any potential acquiring team is willing to pay.
