  1. You're bound to get better soon, you can still make top 7 imo. For my sake you can win the rest of your matches, as long as you lose some points at that sports direct stadium.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I seems to me we have another goal for the season. 1. survive 2. do well enough for Ben Arfa to sign and sign him up Not really much else we can amount to this season anyway, it's not like we're gonna be playing for europe and 10th or 17th doesn't really make a difference. Maybe it's a goal to blood some youngsters once we feel safe and maybe build up the team some more for next season in the january transfer window.
  3. Most realistic one so far. I'd be happy with that. Think we need to give Krul, Tiote and Ben Arfa some gametime, will only make them better. Then maybe take out tiote and ben arfa around 60 min. to keep them fit for the weekend.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=825107&sec=england&cc=5739 Hughton hints at permanent move for Ben Arfa Newcastle manager Chris Hughton says Hatem Ben Arfa took a step towards a permanent deal with the club after scoring a stunning goal against Everton on Saturday. Ben Arfa, who has joined the club on loan from Marseille for the season, marked his first start for the Magpies with the only goal of the game at Goodison Park and looked to be a positive addition to the club's midfield. Hughton was suitably impressed and suggested Newcastle will look to take up their option to sign the France international on a permanent deal. "He has that quality, that something that's a little bit different that could make the Newcastle fans really take to him," Hughton said. "It was a very encouraging performance from a player who gives us new options on the left. "It was a great debut, but the key is whether he can produce that kind of thing on a consistent basis. If he can, then I'm sure we'll be looking at making his move permanent. There's a long way to go before that though." Everton were one of the clubs that Ben Arfa rejected in order to pursue a move to Newcastle, and the former Lyon star says that while joining the promoted side was something of a risk, he is happy with the choice he made. When asked whether he could have joined Everton, Ben Arfa said: "No, not really. There was a lot of talk but Newcastle were the ones who wanted me and they are the club I have agreed to join, and if other clubs did want me then I hope I can show at Newcastle why they wanted me. "Sometimes in football you have to take a risk. I knew about Newcastle and when I came there for the first time, you could see how big it was. It may have been newly-promoted but it didn't feel like it because there are so many good players at the club - and you could see that on Saturday. "We should be ambitious but we also have to be calm and remember it's pretty early in the season. There is plenty of character in this team so we'll see how far we can take it. "Newcastle are a big, big club with some really astonishing supporters. When I came here, I wondered what I would find but I am surrounded by some really good players, who will take us far. It is exactly the sort of club that I left behind in Marseille. "They have the same passion among the supporters, the same sense that the club dominates everything in the city. It is a great thing when you play in front of passionate fans. You want to give them something back, you want to play for them, do your best for them. I am very, very happy that they saw us win and that I scored for them."
  5. I'd be happy with 9 points from those 5 matches. Yes, I would.
  6. Krul Raylor - Sol - Williamson - Kadar Jonas - Guthrie - Tiote - Ben Arfa Vuckic Løvenkrands Should do alright, and most importantly it will give valuable gametime to those who need it and rest to others.
  7. Telt yas. So you actually predicted a player who scored two goals already could score a hattrick? It must be hell to live with this curse of knowing the future.
  8. Krul - 6 Enrique - 8 colo - 7 Williamson - 5 Perch - 6 Ben Arfa - 9 Tiote - 9 Barton - 9 Routledge - 8 Nolan - 6 Carroll - 7

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Sign him up permanently now. If we wait too long we might not be able to.
  10. really has gotten everything spot on. Hope he does the same for 2nd half.
  11. I don't think I've ever been this happy! :celb: ;D :frantic:
  12. No. He won't score today, surely. He will now. Don't worry I just bet on him to score, so now he won't. it's incredible how little influence the match itself actually has on the result.
  13. Feel like giving both of them a big hug. Come on lads
  14. Maybe it's nolan and jonas out. Would prefer that tbh. Think we'll make more use of smith than Nolan in this match.
  15. Harper Perch - Colo - Williamson - Enrique Routledge - Tiote - Barton - Smith - Ben Arfa Carroll Kick them in midfield and hit 'em on the counter, with Ben Arfa and Routledge providing the pace and Carroll the goals.
  16. Seems like a stupid move and a stupid stupid rumour.

  18. He's 27 he should of had it perfected by the time he was 22-23. He's never ever going to improve as he would of done so by now.
  19. It has to count for something that, even though management was bad, it was first when shearer retired we couldn't keep afloat.
  20. A very hard call, but the heart (and the mind) says Alan. In his prime he was really the best striker I have seen, maybe bar Ronaldo, although they are of course completely different types (would be the ultimate fantasy to watch these together in their prime). I am very much a fan of Didier btw. Have to say, this thread and a lot of others on this forum seems to be very based around the opions of the poster 'Ronaldo'. Guess you already know that, but it's coming to a point where I'm doubting if I'm going to newcastle-online.org or Ronaldos-opion-about-newcastle-online.org.
