He was probably the best player on the pitch last night. He was playing in the 10 role and was the player that his teammates looked for when they had the ball. In that role, he didn’t exactly pick a penetrating pass but more just ticked things over playing it safe which is understandable because Argentina are a tough team to break down. He’s most dangerous when he’s got space to run into like the assist passage of play. Special moment was when he ran back 60 yards and dispossessed Messi. His stamina is a great strength.

We get to watch a full season of him next season He’s been MOTM, right?
