Can't imagine having to think I was the player that indirectly caused this implosion. -

Sad. And ridiculous. . . no matter who is at fault. -

Anyone know if there was any real connection between Llambias and Ashley before he was brought on? I originally had the sense that Ashley appointed people he knew and trusted, like Mort, to run his various interests on a day-to-day basis. Ideally, he'd have somebody in the position that knows how he acts and what he wants so the manager has someone with whom he can deal, having confidence that such person would be a real surrogate for Ashley. (I don't presume to know if that's the root of the problem here). -

Am I reading that wrong, or does it just say he wasn't fired -- what about him quitting? -

Our problem at the moment is that there doesn't seem to be any link up between midfield and attack and I don't think it's necessarily the responsibility of the midfield, but surely that role should be filled by a striker or someone playing in a withdrawn striker role? We've seen for ourselves how much a weak midfield can have on our ability to stop leaking goals, yet people are suggesting playing an attacking midfielder which wouldn't do anything to improve the problem. Shouldn't an attacking midfielder be skilled enough to link up with the strikers without significantly weakening the midfield? Feel free to throw some names up of who we could attract that could offer this. No, that was actually a real question.

So we'll be having a Klingon at CB? Sweet. -
I keep reading his name as Nile Rodgers, which causes Le Freak to play in my head.

Obafemi Martins - Newcastle Online EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!

RIP I seem to remember that he brought her to Newcastle for a while when he was first settling in. Must have been close. A real shame. -
The most important thing really, is management's ability to determine whether or not, and when, information within its control becomes public, as suits its purposes. It certainly can't control acts of other parties, but I get the sense that internal control of information in the past has been a problem (i.e., leaks not approved by management). If that has been taken care of it's a good thing.

I specialise in investing in Nissan Micras and want to break into the Nissan Micra market in Europe. I thought your Nissan Micra would be the ideal starting place for me. I was hoping you would sell at around £25k and was shocked when you wanted £10k more. As soon as you asked for £35k the deal was dead. I was interested, but didn’t think I could justify that level of investment.

Damn swanky Americans investing in leisure, as we are so wont to do.

From ESPN Soccernet live commentary:

I remember him standing out to me in the Copa America final against Argentina last year. I seem to remember him playing almost as an attacking midfielder.

Good sign we can keep transfer activity quiet? [/grasps at straws]
