Just the way you mention them almost sounds sales-pitchy. -

Rowan do you work for Betfair? -
I work wth germans and french all day and it's pretty easy to pick up mispronouncing things if you hear them said often enough. Even words that don't even exist. Partly you do it without realising, but sometimes it's conscious because you can make yourself better understood.

£6m january bid from spurs? http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/1111/2/spurs-eyeing-shock-swoop-newcastle-star Only talksport, so highly unlikely there's anything in it, and can't imagine it would be accepted anyway. EDIT: Just seen other thread. D'oh -

Wigan just equalised. -
Errr.... It's not such a huge leap if you ask me. Dude says we weren't squeaky clean morally, Guardian interprets this as there were some unpleasant things. Who the fuck cares?

Why are people assuming it was at Sheffield and not Leeds?

Friendly against Gateshead in summer of 95. Think it was only my second match, and was one of Ferdinand's first games, saw him score two (think we won 4-0). My dad was working at the ground (polis), so snuck me and my brother down to the tunnel at half time and we got to shake all the players' and KK's hands as they came out for the second half. Was also sat next to the commentators from Metro FM so was on radio at half time saying what I thought of the game. Not a bad day out all in all.

Clearly never gonna play for England again, but the quotes are encouraging from our point of view.

It's obviously not, because the system has been bent to allow a transfer to go through. Christ, get a life man. It's making a mockery of the transfer window. Honestly what's the point of the rules being there if they aren't going to stick to it? Might as well get rid of the offside rule too. Oh, and the tapping up thing - let's take Robbie Keane out for dinner tomorrow and get him to sign for us. I won't 'get a life' because this is just ridiculous. Whenever we step out of line, they slam the rule book shut on us straight away, but when a 'bigger' London club does it, they're f***ing laying down the red carpet and practically driving to White Hart Lane to pick up the paperwork for them. What is the point of rules if people aren't going to stick to them? Do you even know what happened to hold the deal? It's irrelevant. If the transfer wasn't done by 6pm, it shouldn't stand. Everyone else stopped work at 6pm. Some clubs probably even lost out on players because they had to stop at 6 - why should Spurs be any different? That's bollocks. Why do you even assume it's Spurs' fault? Maybe they'd done everything they needed to and the 'technical reasons' were on the FA's side.
