I predicted 5 nil. Good job I didnt stick any cash on it. Only surprise was that we weren't a couple down by half time. Yesterday just exposed the foolishness of the decision to sack Sam immediately before a hellish run of games. We are a rudderless ship sailing into the eye of the storm. Relegation is a definite possibility, anyone who denies that is sticking their head in the sand.

wont be going. forked out enough for season ticket and away games this season and got sweet fuck all in return. if they open the gates for free I might be tempted. But otherwise no. Money don't grow on trees.

can't see how 'arry would be the man to kickstart our moribund club. and anyone who is up to the job wouldnt touch us with a barge pole. apart from a 55,000 capicity ground and a billionairre owner we have precisely fuck all to offer. possibly the arrogance of Mourinho would make him think he could sort out the NUFC basket case but its highly unlikely. most big name managers probably say "newcastle who ??!??!"

this season is getting beyond a joke ! any maths boffins want to calculate the chances of drawing arsenal away for the 2nd round tie of a both cups ? as someone above said, you've got to beat the big boys to win the cup and I'd rather get done by one of them in the early rounds than face the inevitable semi final / final disspointment.

Newcastle 0 - 2 Manchester City - 02/01/08 - post match reaction from page 24

just got back. woeful again tonight. if you can't keep clean sheets then you have to take your chances. and we go to pieces infront of goal. under sam I expected solid football with the basics being done right. I never imagined it would be pretty but whats being served up at the moment is gash. and I don't see how people can be so confident we won't be dragged into the relegation fight. yes there's some shite below us but we haven't been able to beat the shite. the "easy" fixtures are dissapearing fast so where are the points coming from ? the nation will be willing us to fuck up again on sunday too. I genuinely can't see where we go from here. the activities of the summer created a feeling that the tide had turned but it has been another false dawn.... -

first of many methinks... -
we do seem very bad at closing down oppostion players on the edge of the area. its happened time and time again this season....
-
agree that there are other areas we need to strengthen before looking to get a new keeper in but I haven't been that impressed with Shay this season.
-
when did you have to start paying to be a ball boy ? is it summat that Ashely and Mort have brought in ? seems daft to me. they should just use the under 10's from half decent local clubs. if they rotated them then they'd also get to know what they were doing cos the current crop seem utterly clueless.

nothing to do with his Speedo's coaching ability. it's based on him being a better at telling jokes than Terry Mac.
-
sack Terry Mac and get Speedo in in the back room staff. he can also play the odd game if we are short of cover. can we also fire Pearson too. I have no confidence in him whatsoever.

my conspiracy theory is that we want to keep the Makems on the record lowest points total and therefore were helping Derby by gifting them points. Viduka probably got his arse kicked for scoring that equaliser. the truth is out there...
-
"Anyone notice the charver in the front of the gallowgate throw the ball miles over bywater's head? What a f****** tool." aye - what a tit. we're screaming at Derby to stop timewasting then one of our lot tries to lob the ball to the half way line rather than just chucking it straight to the derby keeper. total clampit.
-
players be used in their correct positons and lined up like so: 4 defenders playing in defence, 4 midfielders in midfield and 2 strikers playing up front would keep me happy. can't see it happening though.

even during a season of rebuilding we should be taking 6 points off shite teams like Derby. I'm fully prepared for the long haul but days like yesterday are unacceptable. a couple of things that are blindingly obvious and need to addresses immediately: - the lads need to play as a team and pull together as a unit. - we have a lot of unintelligent players in the side who will run their arses off (apart from Viduka) but very few with brains who can pull the strings. Oba is a classic expample of this, raw ability but still making far too many stupid errors with positioning etc. -
seeing how much shite they write about the toon makes you wise up to the amount of other fabricated shite that gets peddled as fact in the papers.

D.Mail says D.Mirror says Eriksson thinks he's getting Owen for £8m
bobbydazzla replied to Mags Serbia's topic in Football
I admire your blind optimism lad but his track record suggests he is far from capable of 40 games a season ! he's not even managed half that in 2 seasons ! -
there barely seems to be a day goes by without some arsewipe writing bollocks about us.
-
I saw him clutching an empty pipe and offering to suck people off for 30p a shot round the back of the centre for life......

sell him. 20 games in 2 years. not like he'll be missed is it..... -
the papers will be all "allardyce hangs on by thread, lucky toon save sams job" etc etc etc class to see the ground get behind the lads the neet. the ground was jumping. no teams will want to come and play up here if we can keep the atmosphere like that. it was top notch.
-
if you want to be petty we also played some pre-season friendlies..... if you look at the league, we've won 5, lost 5, drawn 3. yes, the last few games have been worrying. but it's not that many weeks since we were harping on about our unbeaten home record and proclaiming that we looked like contenders for a top 6 finish. we've not been amazing this season. and have been minging in a number of games. but it's a new squad, new manager, new regime. did you honestly think that this season would be plain sailing from day 1 ?
-
The only 2 clubs you mention as having had stable management are Everton and to a lesser extent Blackburn, the other 5 have changed managers quite often recently and Blackburn would have got rid of Souness if we hadn't bailed them out. Sacking the manager isn't the problem, employing the wrong one is. Get the right manager in and you don't have to get rid of him. With our current track record of hiring and firing I'm taking the view stability is having a manager who has been given more than 1 season at the helm. O'Neil didn't exactly set the world alight with Villa last year. But he's now shaping them into a decent looking side. Moyes's reign has also had it's ups and downs. At NUFC managers are never given enough time to build things. The fans don't allow it. And if we sack Allardyce who in their right mind would want the job ???
-
I'm sure that 50,000 getting behind the team would give then a huge lift, I just don't think 50,000 performing seals would make the slightest difference when things are like they are now. I think 50,000 performing seals would send out the wrong message to the people who can make a difference, negativity from the fans at times is needed. Without it we would still have Souness or Roeder and that wouldn't have done us any good. When things are going better then the fans will get behind the team, when we're cocking things up like we are now then I think we'd do our selves no favours if we appeared to be happy the way things are going. Some people will always find a reason to moan when things are going OK but we’ve got to live with that because they’ll give the club a greater spending power when it comes to bringing in new players. I agree that people can't spend every game looking through rose tinted glasses and pretending everything is great. But we are 13 games into a new regime that many agree needs time to gel and build, yet still the choruses of boo's come from the stands. There were many who booed the 0-0 at home against Villa ! At what point does the attitude of the fans become a cause, rather than a symptom of the poor performances ?
-
"The other clubs do it too. They just have less reason to do so, less often." And why is this ? Because we have an unrealistic, overexpectant, impatient set of fans who have delusions that we are a big club and view the likes of Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool as our rivals when in fact these clubs have moved on to bigger and better things and we have wallowed in the self pity of our own mid table mediocrity. apart from the 50,000 crowd what makes us any better than Villa, Boro, Pompey, Man City, Everton, Bolton, Blackburn etc ? And a number of those sides are now starting to leave us behind as they build on a few years of stable management.
