You do realise that for the majority of those 3 years he's been playing injured?

1. Solano - His penalty taking record is second to none, has perfect placement of the ball. Even the one he missed against Wigan last year, it wasn't a bad penalty, John Filan just guessed right and it was at a nice height. 2. Martins - Despite that dreadful miss at Everton, his previous penalties weren't bad. Everyone is prone to hitting a bad penalty every now and again. 3. Ameobi - Could maybe come before Martins. Doesn't seem to miss much. 4. Emre - See Solano

Since when did central midfielders have to be exceptionally quick? Barton is more than quick enough for a central midfielder, and Emre can be explosive. Barton Butt and Emre is easily our best midfield combination at the moment.

I haven't seen an awful lot of him but what I have seen has been impressive. At the minute he'd be fifth in line though, behind Owen, Martins, Viduka and Ameobi. Now, with our injury history there could actually be a fair chance that he may play, but I think we should loan him out and give him a recall clause in the contract. Would benefit him greatly to be playing regular first team football, and thats something that we can't offer at the moment.

He's made to look better than he actually is at Manure though. He'd be no improvement on the players we currently have, so he'd be a good player for depth, but not as a constant starter. Do we really want to be paying 6m for a rotation player?

Why would I play Ramage ahead of Baba? This is why: Ramage actually looks interested when he plays. Babayaro doesn't. Ramage is better defensively than Baba. Baba is better going forward. What are peoples beef with Ramage? Whats wrong with him?

Why are we talking about selling players? Given our injuries, we need as much depth as possible, not to mention the fact Emre is nearly, if not, in our best XI. When on form, he's definitely the most creative and technically skilled player we have but when not on form, he's rather average. His attitude lets him down at times also. Sam Allardyce is an exceptionally good man-manager and he will bring the very best out of Emre.

I'd be starting Ramage in front of Baba anyway. But if the mackems get him and we miss out, I'll be very pissed off

But also, we shouldn't just rush in and buy him. Surely there are better options for that price?

So how unavailables do we have atm? Taylor Viduka Owen Babayaro Barton Emre Duff Ramage, Ameobi and Given were all withdrawn from the Carlisle squad as a precaution IIRC, are they all right to play?

If we play a 4-3-3 with Viduka, Owen and Martins up front we will be deadly. Especially with Geremi at RWB and hopefully a decent LWB.
