Honestly not having a go at anyone here. But remember we "hung on" to all our players last summer as well and look at where we were come January. Hopefully the January signings plus Remy will be enough for us to be stronger than we were last year but we're going to need to have incredible luck with injuries.

Could turn out they sack Pardew after the next loss and it was all on purpose as they didn't want to give him any new players. Although as I'm typing that it sounds stupid as they should have just sacked him in the summer but it makes a convenient excuse not to buy any players. At any other club though, this lack of activity usually shows the board have zero confidence in their manager and don't back him.

Doubt it made a blind bit of difference to be fair. The fact they had done nothing up to that point anyway made it obvious enough they had no intention of doing anything.

I'm sort of glad he stayed as i'd rather have Yohan instead of McCarthy for £13m (not that we would have paid that or even got him but still) Still shows how fucking stupid it was for him not to play, whether that was the club or him refusing, either way we might have got 3 points against West Ham if he had played. annoyingly with the win on saturday and the 2 week break. Just one signing would have kept the feel good factor and renewed optimism going. But no now it's back to feeling like shit and disillusioned with where this club is going.
