Don't see how some days the club are boasting that we are doing great financially and do not need to sell and other days talking about how vulnerable we are to bids for players etc. Surely if we are financially sound then you put a big asking price on your players, like we did for Carroll, and if someone wants to be stupid and pay over the odds then fair enough.

I think the plan was to flog Tiote first but after such a tragic drop in performance his value has plummeted. The next player we think we could get big money for is Cabaye and after that Ben Arfa in my opinion.

This whole "saga" sums up our current transfer dealings. We didn't even start bidding for him until 19th July allegedly. Then we faffed around for ages trying to haggle the price down, where in fact it actually kept going up to a point where even people on here who are desperate for us to sign someone were questioning the price for a guy in his last year of his deal. We should have either bid earlier or named our price and moved on to the next target. Now we're desperate and it appears it's either this or nothing as we've dedicated all our attention to him.
