Ben Arfa did help us push close to a top 4 finish. But agree Nolan did a lot for this club in it's time of need and Ben Arfa needs to stay fit for a season before he can have a proper impact. To be fair Ben Arfa would probably have torn up the championship though

2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143

Fuck sake. Of all the teams to wear a brazil style rip off kit. -
Remember Bellamy used to grab Dyer a few times after being set up nicely. Ah the good old days

Phil K while I agree on all things anti-Pardew, the stuff about dressing room split and such seemed to originate from the Luke Edwards article who is known to have a massive beef with Newcastle and it reeked of "kick us while were down" scenario seeing as he wrote it around the same time we were tumbling towards relegation. The club then went after him massively by banning him and requesting a retraction etc which could either mean it was true or that it was so untrue they found the claim insulting. Either way I think I could understand it more if you said you thought he lost the dressing room because of how they were playing, which at times it did look like they couldn't be arsed to play for him. But the article seemed like a load of made up BS in my opinion. The players have always seemed to get on well with the manager going off interviews etc and I see it as his only redeeming quality. In fact i'd say he tries to get on too well with them and then we get the Ba problem we had last year where he sucked up to him to the detriment of the team and then Ba fucked off anyway.

I think he thought it went straight in

I don't think I had ever actually heard someone use the phrase sovereign states, especially about football in my entire life before Pardew started spouting it. -
I fear i'm just going to defend him in his fatness like I used to with Ronaldo when he started piling on the timber. Going to start now actually 1. Perhaps an old pre pre-season picture? 2. Looks ok in the photos from pre-season so far although still bigger than he was pre-hamstring injury. 3. Pardew apparently told him to rest up over the summer to rest the injury so he liikely did nothing apart from eat doritos. There.
-
Seems that Ravel Morrison has been doing well for them in pre-season.

€7.5 million for Thauvin according to that article? Shame we're not in for him anymore.
-
I hope sooner rather than later he will be on the bench but as of now it seems clear to me he is still Pardew's main man for the left given he's started in both of the so called "strongest side" friendlies. Plus Pardew saying stuff like he's "back to his best" Actually just remembered a strange thing my brother told me regarding that. He asked after the game if he was alright and Jonas' sister said he had been complaining of a niggling injury prior to the game and didn't actaully expect to be starting but he should be fine for City. When you say Jonas' sister for some reason I picture the Mcpoyle sister from It's always sunny in Philidelphia http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz1ld8jVk31qgnab2o1_500.jpg

It was just the way you phrased it Surely having better players would give us a better chance not a worse one? But I agree it's not worth it if they are only a slight improvement. My point was Jonas is the current starting left winger and it makes me sad

I agree with everything you say but the problem is we can't score goals ourselves. It would require, as you go on to say, for us (pardew) to change our mentality and attack teams more and really go for it which we just don't unfortunately. -
The point is he doesn't have to make excuses for them unless he is happy to go along with anything the say, which he clearly is as he knows it's the best job he can get.
-
Assume the camera will be on Kinnear every time we lost at home then if he's sitting there.
-
If we want to sign players just because they are better than our shit ones we deserve to be fighting relegation tbh. Think about that for a second

My usual reaction to something Pardew has said. Those quotes are disgusting.

The Official Alan Pardew Excuses Thread

That's up there with one of his worst yet for me. We don't even buy players domestically anyway so those deals have absolutely no baring on us whatsoever unless one of those clubs decide to sign Cabaye. In which case it would prove the theory that we have been waiting to flog Cabaye before we spend any money ourselves. -
Yeah i would have cancelled last summer if I had remembered in time but i forgot and then the price went up loads. Luckily remembered to do it this year and glad I did because it's really not worth it for me.
-
Wow just seen the highlights. At the perfect team for him in Dortmund, will get loads of goals.
-
It's really tragic to think before this injury we were looking like lining up for the first game of the 2013/14 season with Jonas and Shola in the starting 11.

With Pardew's hero out with the "buttock" injury I fully expect a midfield of either Cabaye Tiote cabaye tiote Sissoko Ben Arfa or Ben Arfa Sissoko Sammy Both are wrong in my opinion. -
I'm thinking (hoping) it's muscle because he's always had fairly big arms so maybe he just likes the gym. Also if it was fat i doubt he would have the bursts of power and acceleration he showed at times yesterday. Still didn't look 100% sharp with loose control and sloppy passing now and again but there were one or two moments where he stepped on the accelerator and you could tell he's still going to have some good moments if he gets the ball in the right areas.
