The three games he misses could have been worse but combined now with the still missing tiote for 1 more game plus injuries to Perch, Ba and Cabaye it's going to be tough. Still annoys the crap out of me that 2 of our key players have got 3 game bans already this year and more annoyingly for fouls that most of the time are either yellow cards or not given. But neither Tiote nor Coloccini can complain as they were both unprofessional in the way they went in for the tackles. Would have helped having been in the League cup a bit longer as other clubs use that to to reduce players suspensions.

It's part of shola's brilliance to be honest. On current form though if we have to play 442 which under pards seems to be the case, then Shola partnering Ba is far more fruitful than Cisse-Ba so far this season.

Really do think Cisse will be on the bench again having played 90mins last night. Not sure if it will be Shola in a 4-4-2 or obertan/sammy/ferguson in a 4-3-3 but can't see Cisse having earnt a start last night.

He was when we was playing Raylor at LB but Santon has improved to the stage where he does not need a body guard holding his hand. Of all the people to say Tiote's was a definate red i didn't expect it to be Mick and Shearer. I really don't think i just have the black and white specs on here i genuinely believe it was a very soft red purely given due to it being Tiote and it being a derby.

late to the party but just wanted to say we would have pissed that with 11 men. Took us scoring an own goal for them to get anywhere near breaking us down. Ba was a tank, great effort. Cabaye was everywhere nipping at peoples ankles and making the loss of a man feel less than it should have. Great fitness Coloccini. Just a superb reader of the game and great organiser. No surprise we conceded a few mins after he went off.

ignoring the sending off, some of the free kick decisions against us were down right outrageous. I know as a newcastle fan i'm meant to feel like the ref is against us but it really did feel like all the officials were doing all they could to help sunderland.
