I think everyone has done that once when trying that move.
-
Quite relieved it's sorted even though we don't know fully the ins and outs of the whole thing. Even just one striker in who complements Cisse would be enough to get me feeling a bit more positive again.
-
With this and the Shola staying news, we no longer need a new striker.
-
They didn't acknowledge the dispute on the site or through pardew interviews etc so doubt they will start now.
-
As much as I hate him I get the feeling Pardew is the one who sorted this shit out now that everyone is back from Portugal.
-
Thank fuck for that. Maybe just the fact he was punished and forced to stay home was enough to turn him round, who knows.
-
Not really. He had quite a few good games at the start and then was injured as per standard Shola. If we had relied on Shola we would not have gone up. Lovenkrands and Carroll were the partnership and as you say this was 2009. I'd take 2009 Shola as backup now at a push but this isn't 2009 it's fucking 2013 and he is still fucking here
-
think of the alternative though. Say for example we were offered Lukaku would you turn him down in our current situation? Clubs like Chelsea hoover up talent and then have over-inflated squads so need to send out the ones they don't want.
-
I don't understand why we are against it when other teams in the league benefit. No transfer fee and if your lucky, teams like chelsea and man city will cover alot of the wages. Where would West brom have been last season without Lukaku, West Ham without Carroll etc. For "poorer" teams like ourselves it's a good way to bulk out your squad without having the risk of a transfer fee.

Next will be ....... "Newcastle set to pull out of race to sign Gomis" by Lee Ryder. Sources tell me Newcastle are not prepared to battle with sovereign states and pay the extortionate £5m to land the striker and have moved on to other targets.............
-
"bidding war" Haha. Move on.
-
What a load of piss. Think you need a timeout from this thread Ian or are you winding people up on purpose?
-
I try to pretend like I should be shocked at what's going on at our club but I'm not. We all saw it coming as soon as Kinnear waddled his fat mess back here. We were doomed as soon as he opened his gob on talksport.
-
As we stand now on 25th July the theory that Kinnear has been brought in to take the flack for no signings by Ashley is as strong as any in my opinion. Hope to god it gets proved wrong but here we still are with zero signings.
-
I'm just saying he has never had an extended run in that role and I think with his fantastic shooting ability and as we have seen with previous fantastic assists for Cisse and Ba he can supply service for strikers. Think we tried it once last season against stoke away? may have been someone else but it was a car crash. Instead of playing on the tip of a diamond he was playing off the striker and as a team we were on zero confidence so as usual we were hoofing it long and not supporting the attack at all.

Wish he had gone full Mark Henry oh and Well go then Shola because we don't want you.
-
and yet a year ago we were envied for our approach to transfers. Big Mike had to go fuck with that as well just like he fucks up every other decision he makes at this club.
-
That's not a real Shola quote is it?

...through the medium of dance. http://i.imgur.com/0tI6NTw.gif Haha holy shit

There's obviously no money been made available from Ashley. We could easily have got any of ; Gomis: £4-7m? Remy: £6-8m? Bent: £5-8m? Sinclair: £5m? (rumoured price today) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2377141/Scott-Sinclair-wanted-West-Brom-Everton.html None of those fees are extortionate considering our stature as a club and our desperation for a striker.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2377141/Scott-Sinclair-wanted-West-Brom-Everton.html I'll be annoyed if we aren't interested. Especially at £5m
