the people saying he was "crap" seem to be expecting messi like performances. There's a reason he is playing for us and not a champions league team and he's been out for 12 months! starting to really erk me now how knee-jerk people are.

Couple of really nice bursts mixed in with a few crazy unnecessary back heels but a better performance. I think people will need to get used to his style of player where he always looks to create something and not over criticise when it doesn't always come off. Doesn't look as physically strong as before. When he gets the ball now i get the feeling he's guna get pushed off it with a strong breeze.

Phew, thank god for that. One of those games you can easily lose/draw but just like champions do we dig out a result even when we aren't at our best

Dunno if its been mentioned but i did bib watch from the training pics and ben arfa and santon were on the same team as tiote taylor ba jonas etc and simpson and best were on the other team. Never read too much into that though as it will probs be an unchanged team

wouldn't go as far back as 10 years but yeah a few of us said at the time we were relegated that it could do a lot of good in terms of clearing out the over-paid crap and building a new team, which may have seemed like desperately looking for a silver lining but provided we went straight back up like we did then yeah it was the best thing to happen to us at that time the last 2 and abit seasons have been polar opposite to the 4 or 5 that preceeded them from the souness era onwards

Really like the way leon chests down long balls and brings others into play. Think its one of the best parts of his game and has helped us keep possession well

Wigan are shocking at the back but not the worst going forward. I expect a few goals but i think we will out score them. 3:1 to us atleast

great timing to release this aswell while we are all feeling very positive about the team and what we can achieve. As much as i was a little annoyed about all the player sales and lack off a striker brought in i have to say that our transfer policy has actually worked out brilliantly for us for awhile now and am so happy we are not the ones giving people like john o'shea 5 year deals and are going for young players instead.

cnt really explain why but i thought he was important today. Used his pace well. I liked the way he roamed about first half trying to link up play. Plus he had assou-ekotto on the back foot quite alot which helped peg him back and stop him attacking us

He seems to have improved with each season he has been here which is good as some players often get progressively worse (arshavin) I have far more confidence now that when he is running at people and cutting in that his final product could be a decent cross or shot whereas before 8 out of 10 times you knew it would be poor. Is he 27 now? Maybe he's a late bloomer

Think people are abit eager to jump on him. The game was being played at a high pace when he came on and he clearly is still getting up to speed. He didn't have that explosiveness to get away from people like he will when he's played more games but each little cameo will help so as long as he isn't costing us points it's fine. Hopefully we can give him a longer cameo against wigan as they look poor at the moment.

he went to tunisia to visit an ill relative last year if im not mistaken, maybe the same relative is ill again or worse passed away so bit harsh for people to be assuming he has gone there for other reasons.

yep i think best has played well and his build up play has really improved, he is creating good chances for others. The one he set up for ba in the 2nd half against wolves was all his own work and was brilliant play.
