Just watching a few Ben Arfa comps to get psyched up for this. God he is brilliant. What was obvious though was on in the swansea game he was trying everything on his own still good but trying to do way too much. If we can keep the 4-3-3 and slot him in instead of jonas/marveaux we might actually play well!

God i hope richardson is playing on monday.

As sewelly said i feel like that about almost every other team. "hmm wish we would get it down and play it out calmly like that" etc

I need to start watching more Italian football, this is quality. I mean terrible but fun to watch.

Depends how we set up. We have better players on paper but it's how we utilise them that's going to be key.

I remember a quote from Kevin Nolan ages ago saying a bunch of the lads had offered to stay behind and help Nile with his finishing or something but he chose not to bother.

sort of team i usually set up on fifa when it's a league cup game and my first team are all knackered.

No mercy. Destroy the cunts! -
Glad Pardew singled him out for praise last night because we are seeing the player we brought for £6m now. He played two roles last night. First half he was playing the role he did against Stoke where he played ahead of tiote and was pressuring Wigan high up the pitch with the strikers. Then when Tiote went off he dropped to be the deepest of the midfield 3, Bigi taking his place, and started linking defence and attack with nice composed passing. Looking very promising but i think if we put him in a midfield 2 again he will struggle like he has earlier in the season. He is just perfectly suited to the midfield 3 role. Which reminds me of the GIF i made way back thinking that's what we would see http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/1184/anitas1stday.gif

Haha that is a disturbing image.

Most of our crosses last night were poor to be fair, from both sides. Jonas in particular.
-
We have definitely lacked a player like him. Someone who can pick a pass and also go on a run at pace if needs be. So pleased he finally showed what he is capable of. Shooting needs work but i have a feeling if he gets time and space he could thunderbastard one in His Free-kicks were very good too. Would like to see him in the same team as Hatem so defences have two dribblers too worry about. My team for fulham if Ben Arfa is fit to start: Krul (simpson & willo weren't Simpson Williamson Colo Santon terrible last night but still scare me) Tiote Anita Marveaux Ben Arfa Cisse Ba Front three interchanging and moving around like they did last night. Jonas for me is the one who doesn't keep his spot.

I thought he was brilliant when he was on but just to balance it out a bit, his defending against Stam for the chance just before he got injured was really poor. Just let him spin and get into the box in a dangerous area with ease. Apart from that another consistent display. Was really worried that the commentator had jinxed it saying he had played every game for us and then he hobbled off. Sounds like he will be ok. *oh and a far better "winger" than Jonas.
-
Anita and Marveaux the stand out players. Anita getting better with every game and looks far more comfortable in a midfield 3 as well suspected.

Oh fuck off Pardew with your defeatist attitude. Said before we played Southampton and Stoke that we were already beaten mentally before the game had started with all his god damn negativity. We are missing 2/3 player's from our best 11 and are playing fucking Wigan at home. Play to win Pardew man FFS!

Alan Smith, can't even get a game for MK Dons man and even last year he was given 2 league appearances by Pards

Be another year where we "Don't have the squad to compete" and bow out with a whimper. -
This is just showing that if we use Ben Arfa as our messi (ofcourse no where near as good) but use him to draw defenders too him as he often does and then have a bit of movement around him off the ball, it would do wonders for our attacking play.
-
That goal was clearly an own goal right?
-
Been trying not to criticise him so far but he really is offering nothing to the side. His Passing is really poor at the moment, gave it away so many times.
-
I've no worries of relegation if our team really gives it their all and run their bollocks off like a few did yesterday. We have too many good players who if they give their best we will pick up points. The problem has been so far they haven't been doing that but against stoke I could see signs that they were understanding the seriousness of the situation now. Problem is now that Wigan is the only game i'd feel we have a decent chance of getting a win in december. I know we have fulham away but after last season i'd say anything there is a bonus.

Played 4-3-3 tonight. Players ran there socks off (anita, cisse) so small signs of improvement. We need to set up like that but remove Mike Williamson and if possible Danny Simpson and add in some flair for the attack; Ben Arfa/Marveaux and we will look somewhere closer to last season.

Another ban for Colo and with it being his 2nd and 4 game ban i presume then.
