Only player who turned up today except maybe Sandro. Which I feel is quite common whenever we have a shit game. Dude always puts a shift in and has had a good season. Yeah would be annoying if he doesn't get any time off this summer.

I'm blaming the loss today on wearing the new kit. For that reason I don't like it

Glad it was Martinez who cost them, cocky fucker all the time, nice to see it come back at him. Also Emery is close to Arteta levels of petulance. Becoming more and more dislikeable as time passes. Soft decision on their goal though, nevermind Edit* They probably will win the Europa if this season was anything to go off. However hopefully it will impact their league form doing the Thursday - Sunday chore. Edit 2* although also that means they get CL again even if their league form tanks like Spurs. Maybe we were better off finishing 6th afterall

He was and will be fuming about the game today. Felt he got it wrong but players also let him down today. Felt the 3 at the back was a mistake and it seemed that way first half. But then taking Gordon off and putting Burn left back again after we haven't done that all season was also very odd. Hopefully it's a necessary evil though to help move along certain players that have out lasted their time here. Putting a side the raw disappointment of one game, Amazing accomplishments this year. Champions league and a cup win means this has to be the best season I have witnessed in my lifetime. He's a credit to the club and the city and I just hope the finances can support him to be better prepared for a proper tilt at European football this time.

That was the old Murphy today. Mentally fragile, dilly dallying on the ball too long and poor decision making. Error didn't cost us in the end but it should have done, but for external help. Still though, best season in a Newcastle shirt and a huge part of the success of this year and will go down in history as part of the cup winning team.

So there was no injury? He was shite but then so was everyone. Thought it was strange he was the one to come off. Sick to death of us never swapping him and Barnes though. Wouldn't mind if Gordon was playing well but he's been poor for ages. Needs a summer of rest and reset. Or we need to get decent money for him if he wants away.

OMFG can't believe these bailed us out. I might need to rethink my feelings about them going forward.
-
Schar onna silly booking. Needs to be very careful 2nd half. Was fuming with Murphy about 3 separate occasions isn't that half and rightly so.
-
Ugh that was a hard watch. Any other game I wouldn't be worried but this isn't a normal game. Why can't we try Barnes on the left even just for ten mins, so strange we refuse to swap them at all. Isak obviously half fit but the 3 at the back isn't gonna help is break a team down and they are successfully going long to Beto anyways as he is stronger and faster than all 3

Lol is that another of those twitter freaks with multiple accounts who talk to themselves?

Would be one of the biggest upsets of all time if this shower can even get a draw out of this. It's gonna need to be all on us to qualify. But I was kinda hoping Forest would get in ahead and Villa would miss out as they feel like our closest rivals over this and coming seasons and anything to slow them down would have been helpful.

I saw the interview he gave to CBS aswell and there was just something about him that made me think the same. Glad we went for Barnes instead.

Wirtz will be fun to watch. Shame it has to be for them but they were always likely to have the pick of most players they want this summer with their psr surplus and being back on top of the league.

I both love that and hate it at the same time conflicted.

Was saying during the season to my spurs fan brother in law, why the hell is Ange whining about injuries and yet still setting up with suicidal defensive high lines etc. of you haven't got the players available then you have to dig in and become hard to beat and ride it out for awhile until you can go toe to toe with teams again. Fans aren't all dumb, they would give you some slack to do that if circumstances require it. Just like we did during our injury crisis last season. We definitely abandoned our high press etc during that bad period and then when we got players back we were still within touching distance to attack the final games and we managed to take 7th. The way he just sacked off the league was pretty poor. But the way they camped in last night and just made themselves defensively solid is exactly what he should have been doing in the league. I hope they keep him as while I think they will improve next year, his preferred style will still see them lose more game than they should.

I thought it was a shocking performance. That 3-4-3 that he is so fond of, he hasn't been able to coach any semblance of playing the system well. You had Dorgu constantly standing on top off Shaw and just looking lost. Then Mazraoui always in the same space as Amad. None of the players know how to play their positions in this system. In comparison (since Howe seems to be getting dragged into this by Froggy) You see the way out boys played against Chelsea and Arsenal in a similar wing back system, that was clearly a last minute tweak due to injuries, and look at the positive movement and patterns of play we were getting from Tino and Murphy. Night and day and this is a system Amorim is supposed to know and has had all season to get a tune out of them. I thought it was criminal that he kept persisting with that line up last night (and all season) when a simple switch to 4 at the back and just playing their better players in their main positions would have likely given them a comfortable win last night. Sure they will "improve" next year as it will be impossible to get worse than this. But they are very lucky their historical success will allow them to buy some decent players like Cunha. But I can't see Amorim being the man to take them back to the top, not unless he suddenly becomes more adaptable.
-
Someone will pay for Antony based off his loan spell but they will still take a massive loss on the fee. I can't help but feel, just like Chelsea and Liverpool etc, these clubs have too many connections and if they need help it will happen. If an old, clearly legs gone, Fabinho can fetch £40m from Liverpool, you better believe a multi time CL winner like Casemiro could also end up in Saudi for a dodgy fee. Same for any other names they have left.

Yeah will go down as one of the worst finals of all time. The lack of quality was stark. At one point second half there was a passage where both teams just kept giving ball back to the other within two passes. Horrific stuff. The scrappy goal fit perfect.
-
There is not a hope of them doing anything against Villa. Villa are good and this Man U team is the worst I have seen in my lifetime. Just worry about ourselves and it's irrelevant what happens elsewhere.
-
Eh? Prime Stoke were actually effective. Would have walked this final
-
Pretty impressive how badly Son's legs have fallen off a cliff mind. Looked like he's aged about 20 years this season.
-
Lol. Seriously though Amorim. How awfully stubborn is he? Trying to force his formation and hasn't got the players for or the coaching ability it seems to make it work. If he just played a 433 and the likes of Mainoo and Garnacho from the start he probably wins that game but no he had 3cbs and people like Dorgu playing the full 90. What even is a Dorgu?, he didn't contribute anything and just got in the way, Hoijlund laughably bad aswell. I'd be sacking him before the night is over. Thats got to be one of the all time worst final performances from a team and manager, and to lose to a poor and injury hit Spurs
-
Almost like we're watching 16th Vs 17th. The scrappy goal perfectly fit suchan awful half of football. Still expect Man U to come back at some point though.
-
Ugh that didn't take long. Likely game over then. Not really surprising feels like every game of other teams I've watched hoping for a result our way, the opposite happens.
-
If City score first they will coast I think. But if Bournemouth got it then it could get interesting.
